Excellent book! Each chapter has 5 questions at the end that make you think about not only the chapter's content but about what it means to you. I am less than half way through but so far it's used a lot of biblical examples regarding God's will. First it establishes God's sovereign authority and proves, at least in the biblical sense that God has a plan for you, rather that is to provide you with a spouse or not, because God has a plan for all, even those who are against him. Later it shows how it is God's will that you ask him for the things you want and that you acknowledge that you accept God's will in prayer. That the purpose of prayer is to mold you and to prepare your heart for God's will and how that will help you be a good spouse to the one God wills you to be with(if anyone). It does not just tell you what you want to hear, or promise God has someone in mind for you. It recognises God may or may not, but it shows that if God has someone for you then he will bring you together. It also emphasizes your personal responsibility to participate in dating and prayer as well. That is about as much as I can say regarding this book as I have not yet finished but it's great so far!

I originally bought this book to help strengthen my relationship with God as I was very serious of pursuing marriage with my girlfriend. In the time of receiving this book we broke up and I had an incredibly rough time with the break up.I’m 29 years old have been in several relationships and I felt such a strong call to marry her and yet God allow the relationship to dissolve. Mark’s book “The One” really helped “Apply God’s Word” (it’s funny because that’s the name of his YouTube channel) to my life.It really helped me get through a break up of a relationship that I thought honored God. This book is more than discussing God’s potential plan for possible marriage for your life it really helps you better understand God’s character and his sovereignty. In the book he also discusses how to decipher if God is trying to tell you something. The book uses a lot of scripture to back up everything and honestly I did not find anything theologically incorrect about the contents of this book. It was a very good read and can be applied to more than just searching a Godly spouse.

Hey! Like I said this book is great, it’s deep and goes into a lot but every chapter was helpful in its own way. I’ve read a lot of relationship books and I told myself that this book was going to be the last one for awhile I was going to focus on other Christian books. And this last chapter I had a break through, I’m not going to ruin it for anyone that may wanna read this book. I encourage you to read this book. Trust God!

I like the way it's organized and the information I have gotten from this is far more than what expected. There is no greater formula to knowing that you're getting married to the right one if not having a good relationship with God. I am not particularly in a season where I need to get married (still too young) but I thought it s better to get the information so that you are kinda prepared. You no longer date for the joy of the relationship status but you date with a purpose of marriage always trying to glorify God . it was a great book, so informative, but I wasn't really pleased with the idea of saying that Catholics overlook Godly singleness in comparison to the gift of marriage because I know it's not true. I am Catholic and I know we don't. Ultimately, I am looking forward to reading it for the second time and I think it's a great tool to help us remember that both our singleness and marriage should all be lived in a way that pleases God. It might be difficult at some point but it's worthyEnjoy your book

This book changed my life. Every question that Mark dealt with throughout the book had been in my mind for years, and not having the answers was extremely anxiety-inducing. I loved how scripture is fully presented and explained in each chapter, and the first few chapters dealt with deeper, root-issue questions that cause all the other ones to surface when you aren't seeking God fully. I read this book for the first time about six months ago, and am now re-reading it with a friend and also a mentor. I HIGHLY recommend this book. It is an easy read and yet filled with so much truth and wisdom. Thank you Mark!!!!!

I've read a significant amount of books on singleness, dating, and "the one". Most of them repeat each other with the same old things I've heard my entire life. This book is wonderful. Unlike any of the other ones I've read. I love that he uses scripture for every point, that God's sovereignity and his glory is what every point ultimately comes to (if that frustrates you, maybe you should pray about it because that's what you should be living for). Lots and lots of grest information, every topic and question that I had was covered and I couldn't reccomend this book enough. It clarified so many things I didn't even realize I was questioning or believed wrongly about. Thanks for sharing your wisdom, Mark!

I bought this book after praying 10 days for a breakthrough, and was led to this book. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and have a personal relationship with God the Father. I took notes as I read this book and understand better that each of us has that one person in our lives that is meant for us. When you buy this book read it with a mind alert and heart receptive to gain acceptance in what is to be prepared for what may or may not come. The book is on point ! I discovered through this book who is my One, hope the same for you.

I stumbled upon the ApplyGodsWord YouTube channel a few weeks ago and it was there I was directed to the book. Currently going through my own season of singleness I was in need of something to give me a biblical ground of confidence to stand on with God’s plan and Mark certainly set a foundation of Faith in that for me.It’s a quick read and is well written and easy to follow along with.I plan to read it over again and have already purchased it 4 times as gifts for friends in similar seasons of life.

This book has been a great blessing for my life. The best book regarding this main topic. It contains many things I constantly had questioned myself and believe after reading this book got much clear thoughts. The best part of all it's that it all is bible centered.

O livro me ajudou a entender vários conceitos sobre livre arbítrio, e como devemos tomar decisões como cristãos, e serve para outras áreas da vida que envolvam grandes e importantes decisões (como qual carreira seguir, etc). Vai além dos relacionamentos, se você souber aplicar os conceitos. Mas tem o foco no assunto relacionamento, o que é bem legal também
A read that reassures a Christian that God is in Control
A brilliantly written book on a topic which can be very frustrating and painful for a vast majority of Christians. Mark writes very well, clear and concise. He uses Bible texts to show Gods principles on ways to examine Gods will and your own personal relationship with Christ. He repeatedly assures the reader that Gods sovereignty is fact and the end results for Believers will be determined by ones own personal walk with Christ. Mark cannot guarantee our future, as he states, but gives the reader confidence in God, Christ and The Holy Spirit that He has it in His hands no matter the outcome.
