Just the Facts: A Guy's Guide to Growing Up (Girlology/Guyology)

Description:

"Finally. A book for my son that has the perfect amount of puberty facts without going into sex. My 4th grader had a lot of questions about girls changes and boys changes - and this was the perfect solution! Thank you!"

Here's the deal: you're not a little kid anymore. So as you get older, there are some things you need to know. Like how to change a flat tire on a bike; how to divide big numbers; and what happens in puberty. Wait. What? Well, that turned awkward didn't it? But it's true.

This book will give you exactly what you need to know (and no more) about puberty - that time when your body starts changing to look more grown up.

By the end of elementary school, there's definitely some puberty going on around you, and more to come. When will your changes start? What's going on with the girls? How much will you grow? How do you take care of your growing body? Why do you feel so clumsy sometimes? It's normal to have a lot of questions, and that's why you need THE FACTS - now.

This book will help take away the awkward and give you just the information you need to feel confident and ready to take it all on!

About the Author

Melisa Holmes, MD, FACOG is a creative soul with an academic mind who is slow to admit she spent a lot of years as a cheerleader. An Atlanta native, Melisa is a graduate of The University of Georgia (with an art degree in drawing & painting), and earned her MD from the Medical College of Georgia. Following her Ob-Gyn residency at The Medical College of Virginia, Melisa joined the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where she held joint appointments in Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics.

As a passionate teacher for residents, medical students and her patients, Dr. Holmes was awarded numerous honors for education including the University-wide Educator-Mentor award and a national award from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for patient education. As an excellent clinician respected by her peers, she was also named among the Best Doctors in America.

Currently, Melisa divides her time between seeing patients as a Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecologist at Greenville Health System, growing Girlology and Guyology, and spending time with her husband and three children in Greenville, South Carolina. When she's not in "work" mode, she enjoys painting, cooking, playing with her tween daughter, and getting facetime calls from her college daughters.

Trish Hutchison, MD, FAAP is an ex-band-geek, valedictorian, turned chatty sex-educator. She graduated from the College of Charleston and earned her MD at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). After completing her Pediatrics residency at Vanderbilt, Trish returned to Charleston, where she was in private practice for 10 years and was a sought-after and trusted physician for adolescent girls and boys. She subsequently founded a young women's health center for the Department of Adolescent Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. As an expert on adolescent development, teen sexuality, and parenting, she has been listed among the Best Doctors in America.
