It is basically a book form of that app that just tests you constantly. It offers a little explanation before, very little. The exercises are nice, but like the app, you need to find your own answers to why. Sometimes, a native English speaker, such as myself will catch the textual errors. Also, I can point out (to my wife) when the book doesn't explain why it offers only one correct answer when both answers are indeed correct.Not a bad investment at all. This is an excellent book for anyone who is already fluent in basic English and wants to improve his or her fluency. However, it is a bit too advanced for someone who is still learning to learn the basics of English words and pronunciation. In other words, it is not designed for use by newcomers to the language (but it is excellent for anyone who is already comfortable with speaking and reading basic English words).

I teach a lot of intermediate and advanced ESL students, and this is an excellent self-study book for them to augment my lessons. 146 Exercises covering each topic. Very accurate English - I even got some wrong answers! Answers in the back of the book, and a useful grammar explanation before each exercise. This is an inexpensive and effective book - highly recommended,
