What a beautiful artistic expression of glory and praise to God, in word and in art. From the front cover, to each page within with meditations on Gods character, Bible verses beautifully depicted, quotes, simple yet profound guideposts for out pilgrim journey, definitions and hymn lyrics, to the back cover, it’s a book that highlights the character of God in the study of individual characteristics as well as in display of such awe inspiring artwork.Just opening the pages and browsing through the book inspires the reader to peace and tranquillity but then when you read the meditations, quotes and verses the reader is inspired to draw closer to their Savior. Each characteristic is well expounded upon and then lifted up and magnified through hymn lyrics and relevant quotes. I especially love how lyrics to traditional hymns are interwoven into the meditations. Too often the old fashioned hymns have been regulated to the background or a part of history. However the hymns contain such rich doctrine and Biblical truth. So I love how the author highlights them, inspiring a renewed focus and love for the good old hymns.Highly recommend as a gift to pastors wives, friends, secret sisters etc. Anyone would be honored to be gifted such a treasure

Pilgrim is a devotional written as a guidebook from one fellow sojourner to the next on this faith journey in life. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, this devotional serves as a reminder that God is with you and that you are not alone. Ruth Chou Simons does a wonderful job of intertwining the truth of God's Word with stories from her own life as well as those who have gone before us. Along with 25 hymns to accompany each chapter, her beautiful artwork captures your eye, heart and spirit with breathtaking beauty. Ruth guides the reader along by pointing out the truth of God’s character no matter what our life’s circumstances bring.I personally love the beauty of Ruth Chou Simons’ artwork! I love how each page is full of life and color! Her artwork alone in the book awakens the heart and refreshes your soul. It is truly an inspiring read as the Word of God itself is our true source of inspiration. I found such joy, delight and comfort to read through this devotional and believe that you will too.Pilgrim is for anyone who is in need of support or encouragement to walk faithfully with God each day. I love Ruth Chou Simons way of presenting Gods promises. Her earlier boik Gracelaced is a firm favourite.This book Pilgrim does not disappoint, its a good size, a coffee table or bedside book with gorgeous colour artwork and bible truths in verse, hymn and shared thoughts.A walk through this book uplifts and reminds us of Gods presence through our lives, the hills and the valleys.Its already a favourite and will never be put away.
