I read this to my 3rd grade classroom. It's a simple story about the 1st Thanksgiving. (note: more than half of my students are first generation American) Amidst all the silly stories about Turkeys evading the cooking pot, I thought it a good idea to include this text. What caught me by surprise was when I turned the last page and read, the final words, "We call it Thanksgiving". There was a pause and then everyone burst into applause and cheered. Heart warming.

It is very readable . The history is excellent.

Love the educational story with this book. O do feel it is geared for the older kid range (too over my kids heads who are 2 and 3), but will keep to read to them when they’re older and can understand more context.

This is a good book for telling the story from the Pilgrims’ perspective. Just so you know: use of the word “Indian” instead of Native American throughout.

Excellent story about the history of Thanksgiving. Easy enough for young children to understand and leaves room for questioning and cognitive advancement for older children. Illustrations are clear and aid in a picture walk with preschool children.

Easy to understand
I was looking for a book on Thanskgiving that I can read at my preschool. This book is perfect and easy to understand. The illustration was nice, too! Book arrived on time, thank you!

Tiene unos simpáticos dibujos, grandes, visuales, al estilo de los libros de TEO. Eso sí, es un libro pequeñito, mide 20 x 20 cm. Tiene 11 páginas y poquito texto. Cuenta la historia de modo simple y final feliz. Adjunto imagen.
An excellent book
This book tells the story of the first Thanksgiving in a very child friendly manner. My 6 year old son took it into school to share with his classmates and they all loved it. Highly recommended
