On the 1 to 5 star scale - I give this a 6!WOW! - WOW! - George! - WOW!Fantastic, Wonderful, Beautiful, Moving, Inspirational, Funny, Fun, Could not and would not put it down!What a great book - what a great life!I'm so full of joy and inspiration from this book that I can't even find the words to write a review - this was such a great book.I've always liked the "recent" George Foreman - the one that was on the comeback trail and fought Michael Moorer - the one with that beautiful smile.Don't forget there was the George before - I used to think that that George Foreman was just simply a bad guy - he wasn't - well - not fully anyway -By George is the autobiography of (and by) George Foreman - from his birth to his regaining the Championship of the World - EVERYTHING - from the book dedications to the very last page was wonderful.I got chills at the end of every chapter - and just had to keep reading - as I got closer to the end I kept wishing for more -How is this not a movie!What a fantastic life this man has ledThis book has it all - for the boxing enthusiast you get a unique insight at the history of boxing and some it's most influential and historical people - Big George was IN the Rumble in the Jungle - Cosell's famous "Down goes Frazier! - Down goes Frazier!!!" was due to George -On a spiritual note - I would think that the closest thing to feeling Gods love would be getting a hug from George ForemanGeorge - if you're somehow reading this please know that you're an amazing man - and I'm so happy for you - and so happy to share the same planet with you! - I recently adopted a cat from a shelter and of course named him George!Boxing fans - BUY THIS BOOK!Biography fans - BUY THIS BOOK!Anyone who knows how to read - BUY THIS BOOK!

George Foreman is one of a kind. There is nobody like him, and his story is well worth reading. This man could once have been nominated for the "meanest man in the world" award, and yet he was transformed by Christ into a nice, outgoing, friendly man whom you can't help but like. Well worth the read.

This is the fifth autobiography I've read of a great heavyweight boxer. By George takes us into the mind of the former Heavyweight Champion of the World who destroyed "Smokin' Joe Frazier" in the 70s and was thought at one point in time to be unstoppable.Foreman takes us on the journey from his childhood in poverty, being one of 9 children (the only from a different father) to his troubled adolescence to his miraculous thrust into greatness as an unexpected heavyweight champion of the world to his fall from boxing, to his born again discovery of God, to his amazing run at becoming the oldest heavyweight boxing champion in history.We get amazing insight on the women of his life and how they affected him. We get an amazing recollection of his memory of circumstances prior to important fights such as how he was not allowed to leave Venezuela without paying taxes to the government after defeating Ken Norton.Throughout the book, you will get a feel of the soft side of this man once perceived by the public as an angry bully. Behind that tough tiger is a very sensitive lion with a thorn in his side.I was impressed by his stories of Sonny Liston and his impression of various boxer's during his time. I found the complex relationship he had with his biological father to be powerful. Although sensationalistic at times, even his various prophecy like passages that he contributes to his realization of his belief in God, to be deep.All in all, reading his story was one that should have a profound affect on providing people information about someone who grew up with nothing in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in all of the US and came out of the other side, a great man who has suceeded.I still am amazed at how far he went given his limited boxing skills. After reading this book, I am convinced that had been better trained, he would have been the greatest boxer of all time.

What a great book. Superbly written and an easy read. I have always admired George Foreman and wondered what happened to him after his loss to Mohammed Ali. Couldn't put it down. Sent on time, delivered on time.

Nice life
His main opponents were his own insecurities.
An interesting book about a powerful man to be feared both professionally and privately.He proved his power in the ring with his demolition of Joe Frazier but in private,on occasions, he could be very cruel.After he found Religion he appeared to become even more "flakey" having dreams and visions.

Venu impeccable, qui est d'ailleurs surprenant car l'emballage était une sorte de plastique qui collait sur le livre! Le livre est intacte!!! Acheté en occasion, comme neuf. Un tout petit peu jaune en haut sur les feuilles, par le temps ou le soleil, mais toutes les feuilles à l'intérieur sont impeccables ainsi que la couverture du livre l'est. Bravo!
