It should have taken Juliette a single touch to kill Warner. But his mysterious immunity to her deadly power has left her shaken, wondering why her ultimate defense mechanism failed against the person she most needs protection from.

She and Adam were able to escape Warner’s clutches and join up with a group of rebels, many of whom have powers of their own. And perhaps these new allies can help her shed light on the secret behind Adam’s—and Warner’s—immunity to her killer skin.

Juliette’s world is packed with high-stakes action and tantalizing romance, perfect for fans of the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard and the Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken.

When you read it once, and your socks are so completely rocked off, you simply must dive back into the pages and read it again. Or when you browse through your bookmarked sections and highlighted quotes, and you realize that you've dog-eared most of the novel, and just thinking or talking about certain scenes and chapters will a) render you incoherent, b) make your heart race, or c) cause you to break out into a smile so big and bright, the people around you will have to wear shades. That was my experience reading Unravel Me. Even now, as I type this review, I am fighting the urge to pick up the book yet again and read (translation: devour) all my favorite parts, just so I can wallow in all the awesomeness. When the book begins, Juliette and Adam are hiding out at Omega Point, a secret location that is home to the resistance, but it isn't quite the perfect sanctuary they'd hoped for. There's little time or opportunity for them to enjoy their newly-minted couple status, and their fellow rebels are anything but enthusiastic about having Juliette in their midst, making her feel like more of an outcast than ever. And to make matters worse, the increased Reestablishment presence in the area is putting everyone on edge, as troops led by none other than Big Bad Warner himself continue their relentless search for the fugitives. Tensions are high, and everyone is on edge. That's the basic premise of Unravel Me, and it doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of everything this book contains. So much happens! SO. MUCH. Tahereh Mafi didn't just expand on the world she built in Shatter Me, she blew the lid off of it and turned a fantastic story into an epic one.The character development was ah-mazing. No one was safe. From Juliette, to Adam, to Warner, everyone had major curve balls thrown their way. They were tested. They were tried. And each one of them had to decide if they were going to step up or get out of the game. I felt for them, and yet at the same time, I loved seeing them get shaken up, because it revealed so much about each of them.Let's start with Juliette. There's no way around it, she's a hot, beautiful mess, and has been since we first met her in Shatter Me. I actually cheered when certain characters (*coughKENJIcough*) took her to task, giving her a much-needed dose of hard truth and reality. But at the same time, I get it. Brought up the way she was, isolated and cut off from virtually everyone, it makes total sense that she would have a tough time adjusting not only to life at Omega Point, but also fitting in with the people around her. It's not so much that she doesn't want to be a team player, or that she's so caught up in her own drama, she can't see the forest for the trees. It's more a case of not knowing the right moves, because she's never had to make them before. Being a part of something, interacting with people, being loved - it's all new to her. But Juliette is so much more than she gives herself credit for. Does she make mistakes? Yes, absolutely, but she's learning, and every day she shoulders the burdens she is forced to carry a little better than she did the day before. That, to me, is what makes her such a compelling heroine. She's got so much heart, so much power and raw potential (and I'm not just talking about her fearsome abilities)....I can't wait to see where she ends up.Adam, I had a tougher time with. I adored him in Shatter Me, but here, not so much. The way he reacted to certain challenges and tribulations just didn't sit well with me. I expected more from him, and felt like I got less. Either I'm seeing him clearly for the first time, or this wasn't his book to shine and he's going to come back in a big way in book three to totally wow me. Only time will tell. For now, I'm on the fence. With Warner, I had the opposite reaction. He intrigued me in book one, and totally, completely won me over in his novella (Destroy Me). Yes, I am very much Team Warner, and being the diehard fangirl that I am, there is no way I can discuss him objectively. So if you want to take everything I'm about to say with a big, heaping grain of salt, go right ahead, but IMO, Warner made this book. Would it have been great without him? Yes, I'm quite sure it would have been. With him, though - with him, it became something truly phenomenal. He brings something to this series that no one else can or will. He's such a deliciously gray character. Not a villain, and not a classic, do-gooding hero either. He's somewhere in between, and which side of him you see depends on who you are and what the circumstances are. I learned so much more about him in this book, and I ate up every single word he and Juliette exchanged. The tension between them does wonderful, fluttery things to my insides. In my (biased) heart of hearts, I really do believe he understands her in a way no one else can or ever will. Does that mean he is going to get the girl at the end? I honestly don't know. I hope he does (oh, how I hope for that!!!) but at this point, I'm prepared for anything. What matters most to me is that Warner gets a happy ending, whatever that happy ending turns out to be. He's earned it.Before I wrap this review up, I need to mention Chapter 62. Sweet mercy, Chapter 62. I've lost track of the number of times I've read it. Let's just say a lot, and multiply it by infinity. Seriously, BEST. CHAPTER. EVER.Unravel Me did everything a sequel should. It continued to build the world the author created, it cranked up the drama and tension, it challenged the characters and had a ton of OMG-type moments, and most of all, it left me absolutely desperate to read more. I need Ignite Me (book 3) like I need my next breath. So hurry up, February 4th - get here faster! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

Shatter Me was so superflippinfantastic. Omg. And I couldn't wait for Unravel Me. Unravel Me had so many surprises for me. Like Ohmergerd. I really didn't expect to go for Team Warner. Because I was on Team Adam too much in the first book."Oh good," he says to me. "You're right on time."Whose that? Is it Warner? Omg *fangirlsWhen I read other reviews of Unravel Me and saw that readers had gone to Team Warner, half of me was thinking 'What's wrong with them!' and the other half is thinking 'Warner must be hot in this book.'Anyways, yeah guys, Warner is so hard not to resist. Omg. Like yeah. And he's only 19! So he could be a candidate for Juliette's heart. Yep. Definitely. And and I heard he has abs. Omg. LOL. From Juliette."Shoot her. Shoot her right now."He's so heartless. Omg. Omg. Omg. Omg. What's gonna happen? The Cover:I never understand the eye part of the covers. But I guess it kind of signifies of its series. Since all books related to Shatter Me have that eye thing. Just from looking at the cover, it reminds me of winter. And the person is crying.....yeah I dunno what the eye stands for. At all. #clueless-reader"Maybe he and I really are perfect for each other."In a good way. ;DThe Characters:Juliette - Hmmm...let's see. In this book, Juliette seem to get stronger in a way and become more helpless in another way. She seems to be sure of her surrounding and I guess you can say she's learning how to use her abilities in a way. But her romance is going astray. She loves Adam. But she can't be with him. (Yeah. I said it out.) She wants to be with Adam, but she doesn't want to hurt him. Adam wants to be with her, but there's Warner. Seriously. I don't know what her heart is going through right now. LOL."And shoots me right in the chest."This should be to revealing to put in. But I really can't resist sharing this quote guys. Cuz this took my breath away.Adam Kent - Okay, sure maybe I'm on Team Warner. Adam is still Adam. Actually I feel sad for Adam. He deserves so much. And he can't get it. Omg. I think he's should be the sad character that's in most books. Sad life. Sad romance. Sad everything. If Warner wasn't there though, Adam would totally be Juliette's. In Unravel Me, Adam begged a lot. To Juliette. I don't necessary like those kind of guys....."Warner is here."Hyperventilating. LOL. *Breathing hardWarner - Oh yeah. We discover his real name in this book. I don't really like it. But the name kind of connects with everything. And omfg, like this book. There are so many surprises. Like every chapter. I was reading it during first period ( I have IWE office, so I have some free time to read) and like I kept saying omg. LOL. There was only one teacher there, so no one thought I was weird. Anyways, Warner is kind of cocky in this book. HE HAS DIMPLES. Omg. Haha. Warner isn't really cruel and cold-hearted in this book. In fact, he was cocky and handsome and ya know the boy we want him to be. Yeah. I admit. I don't hate Warner anymore, as much as I want to.And omg, Warner has such hot scenes with Juliette. Like his connections with her, Juliette never felt with Adam. Just thinking about the book makes me go crazy all over again. And I can't say anything about it ;("That we're lying in his childhood bed together."D'awwwwwwFor those who read Shatter Me, you should definitely read Unravel Me! All those cliffhangers. And Unravel Me reveals a lot more secrets of Adam and Warner. Argh. Yep. Can't wait for that final book. And this book just came out. ;(The Rating: (1-10): 9~These quotes are all from Kenji. Omg. I forgot to talk about Kenji. He's so funny and cool and awesome. I really like him because Kenji isn't in that crazy love-triangle thing. And I think my favorite character is Kenji so far. LOL."You guys playing footsie under the table or somes***?"Haha, Kenji. State the obvious."You are moody. It's always 'Shut up, Kenji.''Go to sleep, Kenji.' 'No one ants to see you naked, Kenji.' When I know for a fact that there are thousands of people who would love to see me naked - "Ohmergerd. I can't. Haha. Almost cried here."And I'd really appreciate it if you'd grow the hell up and stop walking around like the world crapped on your only roll of toilet paper."Sometimes, Kenji is such a butthole, but he's right. LOL."I mean, I just have to say - that last line? 'I wish I could love you less'? That was genius. Really, really nice. I think Winston actually shed a tear-"Sppechless. LOL. Kenji is just so freakin damn funny. Right when you're emotional or about to cry, he'll pop up and make you laugh till you cry. LOL."Mmmmmmm, you're like a sexy, super-scary plant."Omg. Kenji. What a simile."Do I look like the kind of guy who's never had a girlfriend?"Errr.....yeahhh"'Oh Adam, look at me, look at how sexy I am in my new outfit' "I can imagine Kenji saying this in a high, squeaky voice"I look sexy as hell in this outfit"Sure you do...."Today is our day to die, ladies"Kenji.....how encouraging. That's it. And yeah it's a whole lot. Cuz Kenji <3.Happy Reading~

A worthy sequel

If you enjoy Dystopian novels with strong protagonists and a less than black and white reality, you will enjoy these books. Tahereh Mafi is a wonderful writer and I doubt she could write a dud if she tried! 💜💙🩵💙💜

I loved this book
