Review of Khongoo 1200x700x1mm Fireproof Mat, Hearth Pad for Indoor Wood Stove Fireplace, Outdoor Barbecue, Fireplace Mat Protects Floors Carpets from Sparks Embers, Black colour.A Silicone coated fire mat that can withstand 1000*C, this just had to be ordered, whilst ideal for wood or coal fireplaces and stoves in preventing spitting burning embers from marking the flooring this actually to be used as a welding mat, not only fireproof but waterproof allowing washing after use to remove smoke stains.The mat ideal to stop welding spatter from burning and marking the concrete garage floor or patio, this being both wood and concrete, burn marks inevitable when welding handrails or gates around the garden, spatter and heat from welding can leave nasty black burn marks on concrete and deep burn voids in wood if not covered, this mat will certainly return its value quickly as burn mark repairs extremely time consuming.Having already used the mat one can say it is very effective considering it is thin at just 1mm thick, the hot welding spatter and slag does leave a melt mark but as the mat black in colour it not that noticeable, the remaining bits left after cooling just brushed away and any smoke discolouring can be washed with soapy water then the mat just left to dry, the mat edged all round by rolled over material sown in place making it neat and tidy especially if used indoors for fireplaces.Being effective in preventing welding burns one can imagine this also as effective when used for stoves, fireplace or barbecue,s on concrete, wooden patio or carpets. Burns do mark the mat however it to be expected, certainly preferable to burn marks on the floor or carpet, from a safety aspect alone this mat well worth owning.

This silicone infused glass fibre mat arrived folded inside a plastic bag and supplied with a printed A5 sheet of user instructions. It’s described as being waterproof, greaseproof and easy to clean, all claims that I confirm are accurate. The rubber-like coating of the rug is durable and wipes clean with a damp cloth. It’s fire resistant too and, with dimensions measuring 120cm x 70cm, it does a great job of protecting the carpet from stray embers.The mat’s made of a thin fabric that has a black fabric border stitched all the way around the edge. Presumably this stops the material fraying but it also gives a very nice finish to the mat too. The hearth rug unfolds and after laying it on a flat surface for a few days the creases should all but dissapear. I have found that it can move across the pile of the carpet when any weight is put on it, but it’s not a big issue and happens with all rugs.For the price it’s a great buy, and if it protects the carpet from damage then I think it’s a must have item for log burner and open fire users.

This large mat is the same material as some kitchen mats I have that you can use under hot things like a deep fat fryer to protect your worktops. It's quite thin but does a reasonable job of insulating although it does get warm underneath. The mat is said to be fireproof, which is probably is, but I would say it's more of a protection thing rather than a rug. The rug description it a little misleading because it implies you would use this all the time in front of your fireplace, but it's really ugly. You definitely wouldn't have this as a rug, you might put it on top of your rug while the fire is lit.Overall I think at £20.99 this is OK value wise, it does the job, but I think it's a bit thin and not completely heat proof.

Item arrived quickly and in good condition. I got this hearth mat to use in front of our wood-burning stove, and it does exactly what I needed. The size is just right to catch any sparks or embers that fall out when opening the stove door, giving peace of mind that the flooring and carpet are protected.The material feels durable yet flexible, and it lies flat without curling up at the edges. It’s thin enough not to be a trip hazard but still strong and heat resistant. Cleaning is easy – just a quick brush or wipe down.The plain black finish looks neat and doesn’t distract from the fireplace itself. This fireproof mat is exactly what I needed for my wood stove. At 100x60cm it’s a good size—large enough to catch sparks and embers but not so big that it gets in the way. The black color blends in nicely with my fireplace setup, and it looks neat and tidy on the floor.The material feels durable yet lightweight, and it lays flat without curling at the edges. I’ve already had a couple of small sparks land on it, and the mat did its job perfectly—no marks, no damage to the carpet underneath. Cleaning is easy too; a quick vacuum or wipe down is all it takes.It definitely adds an extra layer of safety and gives me peace of mind when using the stove or fireplace, especially around kids and pets. For the price, the quality and protection are excellent. I’d recommend this to anyone with a fireplace or wood burner.

Excellent fireproof mat.
This fireproof mat is nearly identical to the one we have now that has performed very well for three years with minimal signs of wear despite daily use of our wood burning oven. The mat we have has a label and this is the only perceptible difference on very close comparison (including flex tests, examination of the stitching, thickness, feel of the material). Likely the same manufacturer in my opinion. The wear that is visible on the product we have now begins to show the fiberglass glass fibers ever so slightly but still functions. This means that it gets an ashy appearance over time (this occurred at the end of last season) and is not so deep black, but quite honestly during use the mat ash gets on it anyway. On the rare occasion that embers do get out like when a log shifts against the glass while burning, the mat performs as expected, giving enough time to use my ash shovel to scoop it up with no damage done. Vacuuming is possible but the mat tends to get sucked up and stick, so cleaning is best done by sweeping up the ash first and then following with a damp paper towel and a bit of rubbing to get ash residue up (likely the cause of the wear too). Usually we only get 30 days to test before submitting our reviews in the Vine program, but I have been very happy with the mat that I have (as mentioned it is near identical except for the label) so this review gets the benefit of years of experience. The value of this item to me is good at 19.99€ at the time.

Schnelle Lieferung und gut verpackt. Einen Stern muss ich leider abziehen, da die Matte auf dem Laminat nicht rutschfest ist, dennoch eine gute Alternative zum "Ofenblech", da ich die Matte bei Nichtgebrauch wegräumen kann.

Geliefert wurde die feuerfeste Matte zusammengefaltet. Das Entfalten gestaltete sich problemlos und die Falten liegen sich nach ca 24 Stunden raus.Die Matte macht einen sehr wertigen Eindruck. Das Material fasst sich gummiartig an, ist auch auch beidseits rutschhemmend. Das sorgt einerseits für optimale Positionierung auf jedem Untergrund und andererseits hält es alles, was man drauf stellt, an Ort und Stelle. Die Matte ist recht schwer, auch bei Wind im Garten hebt die Matte nicht ab. Die Nähte wirken gut verarbeitet und die Matte ist trotz ihrer Schwere sehr flexibel.Zum Test habe ich ein Stück Pappe angezündet und drauf gelegt.Nichts.Keine Rückstände, keine Brandmarken.Das Stück Pappe ist einfach verbrannt und hat nur ein paar kleine Aschereste hinterlassen.Für uns die perfekte Unterlage um im Garten zu grillen.Ich kann diese Matte insofern empfehlen.
