Tried this out as one of my two big dogs had dropped a bit of weight after a bout of fussiness – he’s always been more of a diva when it comes to food, so I needed something to tempt him without overloading him with junk. The venison flavour seemed promising, and he definitely perked up at mealtimes once I started mixing this in.It smells a bit like gravy granules (not necessarily a bad thing!) and mixes in well with both dry and wet food. The powder’s fine, no clumps, and didn’t seem to upset either of their stomachs – which is always a concern when adding anything new. My other dog, who really didn’t need the calories, was suddenly acting like he hadn’t been fed in a week. So it clearly passes the taste test.The bag’s a decent size and feels like fair value given how long it lasts, but if you’re feeding a giant breed, expect to go through it fairly quickly. I wouldn’t say it built muscle overnight, but combined with regular feeding and a bit of exercise, the slimmer dog has filled out a little more and looks healthier overall.If I had one suggestion, it’d be a measuring scoop inside – would make portioning easier instead of fumbling with kitchen spoons every day. And it’d be good to know if they plan to do any other flavours too, just to mix things up.Overall, it’s a solid product if your dog needs a bit of a boost and is a picky eater. It’s not a miracle powder, but it’s a helpful tool to have in the cupboard.

I can't put my finger on exactly what in this supplement is working so well but it really is.My collie cross lost his appetite during the hot spell in July and it hadn't come back and for his breed, he seemed comparatively low energy (he has been coming back from a torn muscle so I put his low energy down to discomfort/pain although his progress at physio was consistent).Anyway, as soon as this supplement arrived I started adding it to his food (good quality, high fat working dog food) and within days his appetite started returning and his energy levels have increased massively and the only change is that he now has this supplement.My deduction is that it tastes great and definitely adds value to his diet. It will be on repeat purchase from now on. Awesome stuff.I'll also be giving it to my agility dog ahead of shows for a little pick me up (she doesn't need her appetite boosting!)

The item its self is brilliant and I highly recommend however the container the product comes in wasn’t sealed properly so the powder was spilt unfortunately.Would be better if the product was in a more sealed/secure bag or container.

I find you need way more water than it states it's still very powdery and what my dogs need seems a lot hm this lasted less than a weekBut my dog loves it

The Gainer is easily digestible and easily absorbed, providing your dog with all the essential amino acids, effectively supporting muscle development and strength. One of my dogs is prone to losing weight, while the other is prone to gaining it, so this is an ideal addition to the lighter dog's food. It mixes into a paste and she had no issues eating it. It's got very natural minimal ingredients (both my dogs have enjoyed antler chews in the past) so I'm happy to use it. The only downside it the packaging - it's in a very wide flat box, which doesn't feel very sturdy and takes up a lot of cupboard space - a pouch would be much easier (and environmentally friendlier than plastic).

I’ve heard good things about this product and am delighted to try it.It’s got just 4 clean ingredients. The animals are not farmed, so there’s no antibiotic, chemicals, wormers and the like that farmed animals are subjected to, and it’s simple to dose with a straightforward scoop.I have two large breed dogs. One is a couch potato, but the other is a red setter who loves agility training and who is a bit loopy and is never still.She has free choice good quality food 24/7 but she’s always a bit on the thin side due to her high activity levels so I’m hoping this will help her gain a little more weight.I mixed the paste as directed and added it to her chicken, veg and biscuits and she woofed it so no palatability problems there!The resealable tub is handy to use, and there’s a long date on it.It takes a couple of weeks of consistent use to notice any difference, and I feel optimistic.I will endeavour to update my review with my findings, regarding effectiveness.I hope you find my experiences helpful.

My dog won't eat it
