Even if the chessboard is upside down, the magnets in the bottom of the chess pieces can still keep the pieces in place. This 2-in-1 chess and checkers set is even better than I expected. We spent a week looking for a decent chess set at a good price. Glad to have found this one. 15" Board is nice and flat (no hideous gap in the middle of the board as a lot of the others have), it also has the nice little added touch of having the square references printed along the edges and its nice and smooth. The pieces have a nice feel and weight to them. The other plus for this set (apart from the great price) is that it doesnt have the hasp and catches trailing in front of the players when the board is open (as it doesnt have any :-) ) It comes with a bag which fits around the folded board. It also has individual cutouts for storing the pieces and it comes with a couple (1 of each colour) Queens, which is a nice touch. Excellent product, superb value for money. Dont waste your time looking for a better set under ยฃ50, you wont find one :-) :-)

I gifted this magnetic chess set to my son and he loves it. Heโs been using it at home and suitable for travel with friends, the magnets keep the pieces secure and working well. Also, this foldable board is a perfect size. Cool color and excellent quality product. I only wish the checkers were magnetic too, but overall itโs great value and heโs really happy with it.
