This little RC plane has brought a lot of squeals and a fair bit of ducking in our semi. It is a lightweight foam airframe with the propellers tucked safely inside, two swappable batteries, USB-C charging, and a simple controller with trim buttons. It feels made for indoor play, which suits our British weather and my living room referee skills.The good bits first. It is surprisingly tough, ours has clipped a door frame more than once and only picked up tiny scuffs. The enclosed blades mean no snagging on curtains, and the Labrador keeps his nose, and dignity, intact. My six-year-old could take off and steer after a short practice, while my four-year-old loves being the battery manager, handing over charged packs like a tiny pit crew. We fly lazy figure-eights around the lampshade and skim the hallway mirror, and when it kisses the skirting board it tends to bounce rather than break.It is not perfect. There is a slight drift that needs a nudge of trim, and in a small room you do need quick fingers. Each battery gives about 8 to 10 minutes for us, enough for a couple of circuits before the calls for another go start again. Mine only seem to charge reliably from a low-power USB port, the little charging light is fussy about high-wattage plugs.Fun factor is high, build is decent, and for what you get it delivers plenty of squeaky clean chaos. It has become our rainy-day favourite, small, safe, and just chaotic enough to make the grown-ups grin as much as the kids.

This review is for the 'KukuFun Remote Control Mold Small Toy'. Currently selling at £18.99At the moment, the images, name and possibly the price of this remote control plane all probably need updating. What you are ordering is an KukuFun LO712 RC drone, in the shape of a jet fighter, with remote and two batteries.While this is plane shaped, it is not an RC plane and has no aerodynamic surfaces, rather it is a drone disguised as a plane. I found the design a lot of fun, and thanks to the very recognisable 'front' I also found this drone a lot easier to fly than most. I was also impressed that not only was the drone disguised well, the actual performance was tuned to make the experience work with the shape. For instance, when you spin the drone, it spins around the axis of the front blades rather than the middle, which somehow made a lot more sense as a plane.I noted on some comments of other listings of planes from KukuFun that there were complaints about the battery, so I spent a lot of time charging, flying, charging and flying again to get a measure of performance. I am happy that my drone gives me a reliable flight time of about 6.5 minutes on a single battery, and I witnessed no battery degradation or other issues. The batteries do take a few hours to fully charge though, and should be left until the red light goes out. The planes batteries come in a custom format with USB-C charging, which is very convenient. You get two in the pack, but for longer than 13 minutes flight time in a play session, buy extra batteries.It is possible to fly this plane outside on a still day, but performance is affected, and it certainly shouldn't be taken out in any sort of breeze. Its flies wonderfully indoors, and is really stable and easy to control in an indoors environment.

This itls light weight so it seemed like it would be ideal for my son who has issues with coordination and visual tracking. It started off okay, but the battery died so quickly and isn't something I can replace with a better battery.Each charge seems to further reduce the battery time, to the point it's not worth even having, by the time my son starts to get the hang of it, it needs recharging.

This is a fun toy for as long as the battery lasts - which was just under 7 mins.On the bright side, it's made of foam, and I wouldn't think it would hurt if you accidentally crashed into someone.It does come with some spare propellers, but I'm not sure I would bother if they came loose.It has the feeling of manufactured e-waste in my opinion, which is such a shame.At £36 at the time of review, I would personally spend it on something else, but if you're looking to get someone into drones etc, could be a way to gauge interest.

A cracking little RC plane that genuinely delivers on the fun. The KukuFun uses a VTOL-style layout with its rotors tucked safely inside a lightweight foam shell, so no snagged curtains and no snapped blades. You get two swappable batteries, USB-C charging, and a 2.4 GHz controller with clear trim buttons and a tidy throttle stick.Indoors it behaves far better than I expected. It lifts off smoothly, holds a steady hover, then scoots forward without any drama. The enclosed fans and foam body make it properly tough, mine bounced off the lounge wall and flopped onto the rug with nothing worse than a bruised ego. Swapping batteries takes seconds, and each pack gives a reliable 8 to 10 minutes, enough for a few quick flights while the kettle boils.It is easy for kids to grasp, yet there is enough control for grown-ups to feel involved too. Build quality feels sound, the thoughtful design keeps fingers and furniture safe, and the included bits actually add value rather than padding the box. If I am being picky, the leaflet is a bit terse, but you hardly need it once you have flown a circuit.All told, it is simple, robust, and a proper laugh. Five stars from me.
