Great sound quality for the price. The ability to change the output stage OP Amps is a nice touch. Definitely benefits from swapping factory OP Amp with discrete. Also changing the plug-top PSU improves SQ.

The Fosi X5 was bought to provide a 2nd moving coil phono input for the 2 turntables I use.I already own an Ifi Zen phono preamp and I am happy with its performance.I decided to buy the Fosi x5 phono preamp after hearing, reading and seeing ( on YouTube ) good reviews about it.The Ifi Zen is a good value for money phono stage being very quiet, with a transparent sound quality demonstrating a clean treble, detailed midrange and good bass depth and articulation. Also it's sufficiently versatile to cope with the Ortofon and Audio Technica cartridges that I use.These qualities are matched by the Fosi, plus the Fosi's bass response sounds slightly more powerful and defined and its overall sound has slightly more weight and fullness.Despite its low cost, its sounds far better than its budget pricing would suggest which makes it an excellent value for money phono preamp. Highly recommended

Sound quality is really good, but the Power Supply Unit (PSU) is noisy and gets hot even when the preamp is turned off, and is positioned half way along the power lead making positioning more difficult.

I would suggest not to buy unless improved. Ridiculously noisy buzzing power supply, loose component in the box itself, mediocre sound quality easily bettered. Very disappointed.

Dynamicznie, dokładnie, równe granie bez większych zachwytów ale i bez uwag.Po przejściu na MC (ortofon MC10super, AT-OC5(eliptyk) czy AT33ptg (Microline) czuć było utratę jakości, niestety jest to zadanie dla wzmacniaczy w cenie tak x5 niestety. Znikł blask czy taki błysk. Słuchałem regularnie ponad miesiąc i długo się wahałem, czy nie zostawić go jako (ech) kolejny zapas.Dla zestawu MM - polecam nawet do drogiego zestawu. Solidna pozycja.Do wkładki MC - zagra, lecz hmmm, no przekaz staje się blady... nie wnosi dla mnie nic ciekawego.

Eigentlich eher aus Neugier gekauft, da sie eine sehr gute Bewertung durch Harley Lovegrove von Pearl Accoustics hatten, ein Blick ins Netz und die Möglichkeit das Gerät zu „pimpen“ (Op-Amp Tausch/Netzteil) machten die Entscheidung einfach. Sie sind umschaltbar in der Verstärkung / Anpassung von MM auf MC!Als Vergleich diente die eingebaute Vorstufe eines Panasonic 1500C und die MC Variante eines AVM V30, bislang getestet mit einem Ortofon 2M Bronze. Der erste Eindruck war sehr gut, offen, präzise, guter Bass. Wer also einen preiswerten guten Phono Preamp sucht, ist sicherlich gut beraten. Leider hatte der Schiebeschalter (MM-MC) einen Defekt, nach Kontaktaufnahme mit Fosi wurde problemlos ein neues Gerät zur Verfügung gestellt. Leider war der Aufenthalt beim Zoll (Keine Kosten) deutlich länger als erwartet, so daß die intensivere Hörsitzung noch aussteht, auf jeden Fall werde ich das Op-Amp Tunig vornehmen. Er ist auf jeden Fall besser, als es der Preis erwarten läßt. Klare Empfehlung! Wird fortgesetzt!
