4.0 out of 5 stars Good use by date
Good best before date. Seems good quality but I would not really know. For a first time user of this product, I would recommend not making it extra strong until you know your reaction to it. My reaction was nausea, feeling of doom and diarrhoea... but I had made it very strong, much stronger than recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Wakes me up gently and amazing in smoothies or as a milk latte with honey.
While there isn't much to say fir the sakura part. This is a great powder I've been using in my daily smoothies. Gently wakes me up and gets my brain moving out the fog. 1tsp is all you need (usually a 2tsp girl with coffee). I'd buy again!I make oat/say lattes with this too. I reccomend buying the matcha whisking tool to make it properly, will save you a LOT of time struggling with a fork or spoon. If you are blending it. You dont need the tool though!
4.0 out of 5 stars Has notes of grassy flavour in drinks
I have tried using this matcha 3 times now, a brown sugar matcha, strawberry matcha and a matcha latte with a milk frother. It says you can use in cold drinks and for baking, it had a slight grassy taste when I made it as a latte and when I made a cold brown sugar matcha too, the strawberries helped to cover some of the grassy notes tho. I think this would be better for baking I should’ve read and done more research before purchasing :) the texture is smooth tho and it seems good quality, I have been sifting it because that’s what I’ve seen people do for better results. I really want to use this matcha in baking tho!
3.0 out of 5 stars Good taste
This is a good and cheap matcha and taste good compared to cheaper ones that I have tasted. A good starter for newbies into matcha tea drinking
5.0 out of 5 stars An interesting blend of tasty matcha
I have yet to try as many types of matcha at the time of writing but I can certainly spot the more interesting ones like which takes something that is already unmistakably Japanese and adds something else japan is known for which is sakura (in this case the leaves), because of this you get a quite nice smell from the moment you open up the packet as well as after it is used.As usual I always make a basic latte first which turned out quite well, with its smell and natural caffeine I feel its a great thing to have when you need to relax and regain some energy (perhaps during a work break) or some other time. While it doesn't tell you ingredient amounts I appreciate that the page has a video showing various powders including this one used to make a variety of cookies to show that they are in fact good for things like sweets, I tried to do some confectionary stuff myself and one of the more satisfying things that happens if you do so is the matcha giving the result a pleasant green colour without the need of food colouring liquids. Obviously more expensive than cheap ungraded matcha but seems quite worth trying.
5.0 out of 5 stars lovely matcha tea
I do like a cup of matcha tea in the mornings not too sure if this is the same as matcha green tea or not , but has the same taste and is versatile in baking etc , as with any tea it is easy to prepare I like mine with warm milk and honey - very nice , as for the price it is quite good I have seen more pricey packs elsewhere , so yes this a good way to start the day or to bake with !
4.0 out of 5 stars Japanese matcha tea in resealable packet - has a green tea with grass type taste to me.
This review is for the 'YAMASAN KYOTO UJI Japanese Matcha with Sakura Tea, Refreshing Aroma of Matcha and Cherry Blossoms, Great for Baking, Culinary Grade, Made in Japan(100g).'- This Japanese Matcha Tea powder arrives in a resealable foil packet with photos and information on it.- There are instructions of how to make the tea on the packet.- I have never tried matcha before so have nothing to compare it to.- It is a fine green powder which I think has an aroma like tea and grass.- I used a teaspoonful (about 1.5g) in a cup and added hot (not completely boiling) water, then I frothed it up with a hand-held frother.- It looks pea-green which is a bit off-putting.- In my opinion it tastes better than it smells. I think it tastes like green tea with a slightly grassy taste. I couldn't detect the cherry blossom flavour (then again, I have never eaten cherry blossom!)- It is an interesting taste.- Apparently it can be used in baking and in smoothies too.
