I recently picked up the DIY Book Nook Kit, and it has been such a delightful project for my family! This kit features a charming 3D diorama of a garden cottage that’s beautifully detailed and feels like a miniature version of a real conservatory-style greenhouse.Assembling it was a great way to spend quality time with my kids. It does require a bit of patience, but that’s part of the fun! We enjoyed collaborating on this project, which helped us bond.The materials are high-quality imported wood, which gives it a sturdy feel, and the final product makes for a lovely decorative piece. It's now proudly displayed on our bookshelf, adding a whimsical touch to our home. This kit would make an excellent gift for anyone who loves books, puzzles, or DIY crafts. This is one of those booknook kits for crafting friends, which is exactly who this one is going to. There are lots of constituent pieces, wrapped in sets of related pieces, all well finished and beautifully presented. There is glue provided in a sealed tube, more than you should actually need, and instructions. That this finished kit lights up is a lovely touch, as is the wind-up music box to go inside it.

I am almost half way through assembling this annd was loving it! But I’ve realised I am missing a bag of accessories. I cannot return it because I’ve already started building it. Very disappointed I’m missing lots of pieces.

Great kit. Green house version comes with little accessory pieces and lights too. Fiddly to build but worth it in the end if you are into your model making and diorama.

Lovely little craft item. Good build quality. Satisfying to build. Cute small design. Would make for a nice gift. Currently priced at £19.99 which seems about right a it’s a very intricate product.

This DIY book nook model kit was sent with no packaging, just an address label attached. Not sure if this is the norm but be warned if it is for a present.I haven’t started to assemble yet but all the parts are neatly packaged in the box and everything is included to get you started.There are a lot of pieces! I would say the kit would be suited for young adult and above.Will edit my review with my opinions on instructions/quality when I have had time to start building this cute kit!

I was looking forward to putting this book nook garden house together but i did find it to be a tad finicky with unclear instructions, a lot of guesswork was needed on my part. I found i really had to push very firmly when placing each piece into their designated slots and whilst attaching them a few of the pieces broke so i had to glue them back into place, also some of the pieces didn't fit in as they should.I did enjoy making the tiny pillows and i initially thought some sewing would be required but soon found out that the material needed to be glued into place so that was nice and easy. I do feel that this kit could have better designed hence my 2* stars.

This is a very comprehensive kit, filled with lots of goodies to make the book nook. You can see from my photos that there are lots and lots of tiny, fiddly little bits, hence the age guidance of 14+. If you're not patient, you need to give this a wide berth, but if you like crafts, if you fancy spending time as a family making something which looks charming and is a keepsake, then this is definitely for you!The instructions are photo-based, occasionally we did have to work out the best way to get from image A to image B, or try to work out what they were showing as it wasn't close enough to make sense (e.g. how to thread the wiring through the greenhouse) so I'd prefer some written instructions too. Sadly the LED lights don't come on, despite the battery pack working fine, but I did enjoy making it.Some of the tiny fiddly bits are quite fragile, and almost need to be forced to connect, which resulted in some breakages. Thank goodness they include some spares. The set comes with most tools you'll need and I have a few tips below that might help you make it:- All the plastic 'glass' has protective film and I found it easier to scratch the croner with the tweezers to release it, but do make sure your table is clean once you've removed it, as every bit of dust and lint will stick to it!- The roof frame (looks like sticks) are stuck back to back, so when you take out A01-5, split into two lengthwise as they won’t fit in the holes otherwise!- All the glass goes on the inside of the building, (once you understand it, looking closely you can see this in the pictures) - don't be like me and take it apart 3 times!-Glue EVERYTHING down. Once the house is complete you can’t reach anymore and once the house is completed, you need to lay it on its side to put the wiring together, and everything you haven’t secured will fall out!- Have a ruler (cm) handy as there are some bits you need to cut, and it's better than trying to guess.- There are lots of tiny edges you need to fold to glue together. The easiest way to do this is to use the tweezers included.At £30 (at time of getting, it also had a 50% voucher off, which was a real bargain) it whiles away the hours in a great way. It's very immersive and enjoyable seeing it all come together! Shame about the lights but apart from that, I enjoyed making this product.
