I've just had a clear out of all my old, partly used sunscreens - it's shocking how long I've had some of them! Some were discoloured, some smelled a bit 'off', time for a rethink and refresh!I demand quite a lot from sunscreen, I want it to be -• As kind as possible to my skin.• As natural as possible.• Easy to apply.• Comfortable on the skin.• Scent free (if possible).• Conveniently sized (ideally pocket or handbag).• Work efficiently!This stick promises all of the above so I'm willing to give it a shot.This is a pocket sized face sunscreen balm which claims to be SPF 50 - I can't verify that but if it's anything over SPF 30 then I'm ok with that. It's small and light enough to pop in a pocket - it's smaller than a pack of tissues so there's no excuse for not having it to hand as and when needed.Being a stick it's easy to apply and not messy - no cream to dribble down the face - and it can be targeted at hard to reach areas such as ear tips which makes it economical to use. It absorbs quickly and easily and leaves no sticky residue of ghostly whiteness on the skin. All good.The ingredients list is pleasingly short - no nasty preservatives or artificial colours and fragrance, the only fragrance I could detect is a sort of soapy cleanliness.I can't really say how well this will work under a hot Summer sun, but I'm more than willing to give it a try on our upcoming Greek holiday - that should be a good test.At £5.49 for an 18g stick (as at 25 April 2025) if this works as hoped then it's an excellent buy, and definitely worth consideration.
