These are excellent protective safety trainers that look smart and wear well. In terms of protection, they're great - the toe dome is very strongly reinforced, and the rubberised soles are thick - real peace of mind. Comfort-wise, the lining is nice and padded, so there's lots of cushioning for the foot and minimal friction. It's great to see the full range of sizes up to 13/14 - note that they aren't a wide fit, but the front of the shoe is rounded so there's plenty of room for big toes.For a decent brand the price is very good, especially since these are well constructed and should last. They look great too!

these shoes seem to be well made and comfortable. the steel cap certainly seems strong enough (tested with a hammer and it didn't dent, or at least not noticeable) so I know my toes are safe.annoyingly I'm in between sizes and no 6.5 was available at time of order so when for a 7. I should got 6 as the size is massive! (I would suspect I would even fit in a 5 in this brand, compared to my size 7 trainers this seems to be a size 8 but says 7) so in future best order sizes down!the material is good and waterproof but sadly as it's too big my feet slide about inside (there's a good almost 2 inches from the tip of my toe to the end of shoe. usually a size 7 will be 3/4 of inch gap for me.

These Blackhammer safety trainer boots are really high quality. The fibreglass toe caps are very sturdy and the Kevlar chunky high traction sole protects against nails and sharp debris.These are quite a wide fit around the toes and they are not overly rigid giving greater comfort. The cushioned insoles give just the right level of support so no strained arches. These aren't too heavy so can be worn for extended periods of time.These are supplied with high levels of safety certification and detailed data sheets.At the time of ordering, these were priced at £39.99 which seems a good price for a high quality safety trainer boot.

For safety trainers with toe protection these are nicely lightweight and comfortable to walk in while providing that protection for my feet.They look great, just like a regular pair of trainers, they are nicely made with a bouncy sole and strong feeling seams.This pair of safety trainers are easy to wear and do provide a level of protection that I have noticed in my use of them, falling items hurt no more!lolI found them to be fairly accurately sized, they were a good fit and comfortable to wear all day.For the look and the features, I’m surprised at the price, I would have expected to pay more really!

I have had a fair few different styles of safety footwear over time and the majority of them have been a bit hit and miss either on the amount of protection or safety they provide. However, I have been really impressed with these safety trainers from Black Hammer.First of all, as a general rule, I always tend to go up a size in safety footwear, as I’m not sure if it is due to the amount padding and inserts etc. but my usual size (9), tends to be a bit on the small side. I am happy to say that this is not the case with these. They fit like a dream and fit like a normal pair of trainers.One thing I really like about the trainers is that although you have a standard lace up design, you are able to slip these on and off without having to adjust/undo the laces, which makes them really convenient to swap over from these to your normal footwear.On the practicality end of things, these trainers are packed with safety features including a toughened toe-box, which is made from fibreglass rather than the usual metal. There is Kevlar fitted within the midsole that protects you against sharp objects and if I remember correctly also against heat/friction. The soles have a fantastic slip free rubber that reduces the opportunity of slips, trips and falls. In addition, I don’t think I have ever had a pair of protective footwear that are as lightweight as these are. They feel like you are wearing a normal pair of trainers, which is amazing, as they don’t feel in any way restrictive or slow you down due to being too heavy or inflexible.I also like that these trainers look modern and look and feel great when you are wearing them, which is great for the more fashion-conscious among us.There is not one single thing that I dislike about these safety trainers, I only have positive things to say and if all of the above is not already enough, the purchase price of £39.99 (at the time of this review) makes them brilliant value for money.I would not only recommend these to others that need site wear and/or home DIY use protection, but I would purchase these again in future once these come to the end of their serviceable life.A really great product.

The rubber soles are securely bonded to the uppers and have a good grip on a variety of surfaces. They have a padded insole and tongue which makes them comfortable to wear, and the feet feel supported. The thick sculpted design on the uppers adds to their strength and durability, giving them a solid feel but not hampering their flexibility.They have strong black round laces and the contrasting red webbed eyelets make the shoes look nice I think. A small tab in the middle of the tongue for the laces to be threaded through helps tighten the fit as well as helping the laces to stay in place. A convenient well stitched material loop on the back of the shoe is a great aid for pulling them on with. Alternatively, the raised shaping enables them to be slipped on easily.The toe guards are solid but unobtrusive and don't dig in whether you are walking or crouching down. Even though these shoes are described as utility and for warehouse work, in my opinion they are stylish and comfortable enough to use as leisure wear.
