The two tongue scrappers arrived in a sealed package, which was reassuring. They are both made of thin stainless steel but the scraping ends are well finished, smooth and sufficiently robust.The size of the Y shaped one is well chosen. Not to big for a smallish mouth but sufficient to clean the tongue nearly to the edges with a single scrape.Being stainless steel these scrapers will be dishwasher proof and also will manage antiseptic sprays so will be easy to keep clean.At the current selling price of £3.59 there is little to criticise in a utility sense. They are not exactly attractive but the more elaborate ones available, at least those with plastic handles, are probably not as easy to keep clean. Some however come with a carrying pouch which might be useful for travellers, and some are made from copper and / or with rounded rather than flattened handles.I will give these a rating of 4 stars. Not perfect but should do the job well

The item looked as described and came with some brief pointers on how to use it. Unfortunately I didn't think it was that effective. I didn't find that it did a particularly good job at removing the fur from my tongue and so over the course of a week I noted no difference.After using this I bought a brush specific for this purpose and oh my, the difference was incredible. So I deduce from this that the item wasn't greatly effective and you might want to find an alternative.

If I am completely honest... I am greatly disappointed with this product (personally).It just did not live up to the hype / expectations... A total let-down, in my eyes!In fact, I use the straight one as a shoehorn instead now!! (If it were a bit bigger & longer, it would be the perfect size for a shoehorn for my large boots as well).Yes, it does "scrape" the tongue, essentially "removing" (or simply put, just 'moving') the film on the exterior of the tongue, basically smearing it (grime) across the surface and kind of 'squeegeeing' it to the front of the tongue where you continue to scrape ('wipe') it off the front with not as much effectiveness as a normal toothbrush (even using a rough towel is much more effective at removing layers of built-up grime)!It is kind of 'easy' to use, but I find that it works better if you use a somewhat 'sawing' motion by repeatedly scraping back and forth multiple times, with force, shows some sign of 'loosening' rather than smearing and squeegeeing the top layer off in small amounts multiple times...I do not appreciate the cost for such a dull piece of metal...The quality seems okay, not fragile / cheap-feeling (ish) - it does have a robust, sturdy quality to it (them)...I find them of average comfortability; whereas most people seem to prefer the U-Bend, I feel more at ease using the straight scraper.To me, pertaining to their relative size, I would prefer it if they were slightly wider, considerably more 'thinner' & have a more 'wedge-shaped' contact point which would further increase the overall usefulness (which would require less strokes & inevitably more [safety] care); that being said, they are not too big, or too small, it is my view of a more effective product - I would also rather that they added an extra tongue-scraper, in the form of the rubber-polymer bumpy/bristle tongue-scrapers that you can get as a singular unit or as a micro version on the back of some toothbrushes... I feel like that would complete the set, skyrocket revenue + ultimately increase major sales for the company!.. But that is my opinion.I would recommend this, only, if you had a sore throat / infection which inhibits your ability to apply too much pressure within / around the oral region and thus require a more mundane / moderate way to maintain a satisfactory level of oral hygiene; or simply, to be paired with a variety of other methods, similar to my previous comments (like brushing, bristle-scrapers, etc..) and/or as a means to just simply squeegee off any excess residue on the uppermost layer of the tongue.Not entirely worth the money, there are much more effective means on the market (and already in your home) for you to use; in some contexts, this would suffice as a viable tool, but can mostly be outdone by a simpler source / utensil (toothbrush / towel).I give it a 2.3/10 - to be used on rare occasions / permissible scenarios.
