4.0 out of 5 stars It's rather expensive for something so limited

(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } These OhO sunshine Camera Sunglasses have been my first camera sunglasses to try, fot my husband too. We are not very tech savvy but were intrigued to give them a test. We both like the look and design of these sunglasses and the fact that you can record or take pictures even if your hands are busy. The quality of the videos and pictures is good and you can save them on a laptop or PC. What we do not like is the built-in memory of 128GB which you cannot improve upon, control is only through a single button and you need a cable to transfer your videos and pictures, Bluetooth function would have been nice for the asking price. We also think these are a bit expensive for the current price of £199.99.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun but be careful where you use them

    E. · 3 March 2025

I am quite impressed by these sunglasses. The built in camera is only noticeable close up, picture quality is good and the onboard storage is quite generous. My kids have enjoyed using them to record trips out on their bikes. Just be careful where you use them as some places will prohibit their use, even if you aren't recording. Build quality is good, as is the rugged storage case that they come with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great gadget

    O. · 20 December 2024

A great novelty gadget! Comes with three types of lenses that can be exchanged: black, yellow and transparent. They are thick but not heavy glasses. You can prwtend to be "men in black" or use for a serious purpose, however for the latter, a bodycam is probably more reliable. I do find the print/ design a bit too much, but there is an all-black version available.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, but inconsistent

    M. · 7 December 2024

These are an interesting item that I have some uses for (like making videos while working on cars to keep it hands free). They come with storage built in that cannot be expanded, and charge via USB-C. The lenses can be swapped out and comes with clear, black (standard sunglasses), and yellow.Operation is via the single button on the arm.The device itself is pretty simple and feedback for the action (record, photo) is actually fed back by an LED in the nose bridge on the side facing you, AND a vibration motor. Sound is also recorded. The cons are;No expandable storageSingle button actuation means you do need to remember the button presses and vibrations so you know what they are doingTime and date resets every boot of the deviceIf you take a photo while recording, recording stops and cannot be started again without power cycling the device. The arms of the device are chunky and its a little narrow resulting in a quite tight fit.The good:Spare lensesCary caseVideo quality is serviceable if a touch blurry for alleged 4k footage. Still relatively impressive for a very very small camera.

4.0 out of 5 stars too impractical for the price.

    V.C. · 27 December 2024

these are a fun little gadget but in 2024 with where technology is at now they feel fairly lacklustre for the £99 price tag.storage is fixed and not expandable, control relies on single button interface, data transfer is reliant on a cable.if this were a product 10 years ago i would be somewhat impressed but these days i would expect bluetooth or wifi connectivity and app control really.they are a fun way to record POV footage though and i can see enterprising people making some great content for the web with them but it's a bit like using a polaroid instead of a dslr to take a picture, it'll work but it won't be the same as a proper device.

5.0 out of 5 stars How wonderful

    m. · 14 December 2024

Great set of smart glasses. Works well and looks stylish too ! Value for money and well made from high quality materials

4.0 out of 5 stars video great, sound not so.

    M. · 10 December 2024

So tried these glasses out the last time i went walking. It has a built in 64Gb of flash memory, and a very simple button on the side to start recording. While you are recording video, you can tap the button to take a picture. Once you get back just plug the glasses into your PC (cable supplied), and transfer the files to your computer. video quality is quite good as long as there is plenty of light, but the audio is very quiet.all in all they are a great way to capture video without having to pull out your phone.

4.0 out of 5 stars A novel idea and quite useful

    m. · 18 December 2024

These glasses are a novel idea and quite useful, but they do take a little bit of getting used to and have a couple of minor issues that you should be aware of.I really like the compact nature of these glasses, the extra thick arms and slightly chunky frames are the only indication of them being anything other than normal sunglasses. They come with a nice hard case and 3 different lens types, clear, yellow and dark, also included is a charging cable and USB C adapter.Operation is via a single button located on right hand arm, a small red LED located on the inside of the frames just between the eyes will flash slowly when they are recording making it easy to check if they are working without having to take them off, it's also located in such a way as to not make it distracting when using the glasses.Video quality is surprisingly good, you get a clear 4k image at 30 frames per second, they even work well in relatively low light settings, overall I was quite impressed. Audio quality isn't quite as good but it's not terrible, I'd say it's serviceable enough but certainly not amazing. The inbuilt battery lasts for around 30 minutes but I was able to successfully nearly 2 hours of footage while connecting the glasses to an external power bank using the provided usb cable, so your only real limit is the internal storage, 10 minutes of footage uses around 2 GB of storage space so you still have room for several hours of footage.Whilst my impressions of these glasses are largely positive they do have a few minor issues that can prove a little frustrating at times. Firstly there is no real indication of where the camera is pointing as it doesn't point directly where you are looking so it does take a little bit of practice to get used to. The charging cable is a bit finicky, it charges fine from just about any source but when it comes to transferring files I had a little more difficulty, when connecting to my desktop PC it didn't detect the glasses and I thought there might be a compatibility issue, when I connected them to my laptop I had better luck. After a bit of experimentation I found that I could also connect to my desktop but I had to keep wiggle the USB connector on the glasses around until I got a connection. It might have been helpful if I'd know about the configuration file earlier on, but even when I found it I got an error when trying to open it, something about unknown characters. I was still able to read the text in the file but I was a bit wary of making any changes, this might just be a quirk of my computer though as I'm running Linux, Windows and Mac users might not encounter any issues with this.Overall these glasses are pretty good once you overcome their few shortcomings, they're a great way of recording events and family gatherings while leaving you free to join in, the only real downside is the audio quality, it's not really much of an issue for me but some people won't like it.
