Really good, stable, connection through Apple car play. This is the third of this kind of device I have tried. The first two had issues which made them unreliable in terms of the connection. One was okay for a few weeks, then started dropping out, the other didn’t connect well from the start. So, I was a bit cautious with my next purchase. The first reassuring feature was the secure click of the type c to lightning connector to the car usb. The next was the quick and stable blue tooth connection to the infotainment system, which has continued for some weeks and shows no sign of cutting out.Unlike the previous ones, this unit does not allow music play through the iPhone at the same time as sat nav function. This might be why it’s more stable. The infotainment system, however, does allow music play from other sources.

This worked well to start with. Then I had to do a firmware update as it stopped working. Now it just cuts out all the time so have gone back to plugging phone back in.

I’ve tried a few different wireless phone-mirroring dongles over the past couple of years. Some have been more stable than others but generally they all feel fairly identical.This particular one provides an un-attached cable approach - which can be helpful for those who might not like the short bonded-cable design of some models out there as it gives you a bit more flexibility of where you site the device - and also means if the plug on the cable fails, you can always swap the cable without having to throw the entire thing.It is a little larger in size than some others I have used - being a full square-shape rather than an oblong. It’s not too intrusive. I do appreciate the non-slip pad that is affixed to the underside which might help avoid it moving around too much - but this very much depends on the design of the vehicle that it will be installed in. Rubberised corners and sides might also have been helpful in that regard.Stability-wise, the connection to an iPhone 15 is ok so far, I’ve not noticed anything too harrowing. It still takes about the same time to start-up as the others I’ve tried, so no major improvements there.It is still a one-ecosystem device (Apple Carplay) rather than a dual-ecosystem device, so as long as your vehicle’s drivers are all on the same platform then it could be a nice little convenient gadget to help reduce your cable clutter and get your Carplay fix less effort - but this kind of thing is very much a ‘First World Problem’.
