Great, much needed addition to regular in-ear buds (AirPods Pro 2nd Gen in my case).I was using Apple buds for everything, but.. There was something they just could not do well enough or safely enough for me:Cycling, other active sports, unsafe environments and general awareness, etc.Apple buds can slip out and fall, if they don’t fit your ears perfectly (happened multiple times) and cannot match having open ears for hearing outside world.Truefree O2 Are very well made, perfectly smooth and comfortable to touch and wear. Battery life is good, case is solid, bluetooth 5.3 connection is 100 percent stable and in sync.Touch controls do everything required:Play, pause, skip track, previous track, volume up / down, activate voice assistant and activate / turn off game mode.Truefree O2 earphones can also be connected to official app for personalised equaliser settings, touch control changes and firmware updates.- But I have not tried the app, as my setup worked so well, I just didn’t need or want to mess with this. I might later, if I feel the need.If pushed close to ear opening, you can hear thumping bass, but as they just hang naturally, you have to accept them as they are and you cannot do much adjustment other than re-position slightly. The round shape reliably springs back if bent. And that’s how they are meant to function and be worn. They hang a little high on my ears, I think. But that’s subjective and they feel perfectly comfortable and secure and you get used to the sound profile, considering sound is playing from the outside (but still privately if not playing very loud). However, I must say they get plenty loud and I had one of the most enjoyable and 100% safe all day cycling sessions wearing these, no exaggeration !That’s because I could listen to music and be totally aware of surroundings, it’s so satisfying.Oh and no sweat ! No need to take them off to wipe sweat like you do with in-ear phones, if you’re very active. Which is a relief. Also, they sound very clear and natural for calls, both for you and the person you’re talking to.Apple buds sound great, but I would pick these Truefree earphones any day of the week for sports or going grocery shopping, waiting for a parcel (doorbell), things where you need to be reliably fully aware of surroundings or talk to other people. Good value for money too. They recharge fast, last a long time. I Tend to keep volume low / medium level, just enough to enjoy the music, but still hear well around me.Negatives ?Nitpicking, but I would say they announce, ‘Power On’ and then ‘CONNECT’ not ‘connected’ for some reason. And that announcement could be done slightly more quietly. But, that is really just nitpicking.Even my parents enjoyed them, when I asked them to try these on. They liked being able to hear what’s going on around them and said music sounded good.To sum up:All of a sudden, they have become a must have item in my life. I would not be without open earphones anymore. You need both in your life - noise canceling earphones / earbuds and open earphones for different use case scenarios.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sounding open headphones

I sometimes struggle with the fit of in-ear headphones, so I tried these and was delighted! They're so much more comfortable than the in-ear style, and still have really clear sound! They aren't tightly fitting and they do feel a little bit 'wobbly' however they are surprisingly secure, staying in place when running and exercising. They connect INSTANTLY to my i-phone, have loads of battery life, they're incredibly light weight (so really easy to wear for extended periods) and overall are excellent value for money.Would be nice if the case gave an indication of remaining charge, but I can always see this on the app.

I recently got the Truefree O2 wireless headphones, and I’ve been using them for a while now. Overall, I’m pretty impressed, but they’re not without a few quirks.First off, these earbuds are super lightweight—I barely notice them when I’m wearing them, even for hours at a time. The over-ear hooks feel soft and flexible, which is great for comfort, but here’s the thing: they don’t fit snugly on my ears. They feel a bit loose, especially during workouts or any fast-paced activities, which can get annoying. I wish the fit was more secure because the design is otherwise really sleek and practical. What I love most, though, is the sound quality. The audio is clear, natural, and surprisingly well-balanced, with decent bass that doesn’t overpower the rest of the sound. The call quality is also top-notch—thanks to the dual microphones and noise-canceling tech, everyone I’ve spoken to says I sound crystal clear. The open-ear design is a feature I didn’t know I’d appreciate so much. I can listen to music or podcasts while still being aware of what’s happening around me, which makes them perfect for running outdoors or biking. The situational awareness is a big win for safety. And then there’s the battery life—wow. I easily get around 5 hours on a single charge, and with the charging case, I’m good for a total of 14 hours. It’s one of the best parts about these earbuds, especially since I hate constantly worrying about charging my devices. The app is a nice touch, too. I can customize some settings and even switch between devices easily, which is super convenient for juggling between my phone and laptop. If I had to sum it up, I’d say these headphones are great for sound quality, battery life, and staying aware of your surroundings, but the loose fit is a bit of a dealbreaker for intense activities. If you don’t mind that, they’re definitely worth a try.

    A.C. · 11 July 2024

Great sound, long play time and lightweight

    A.C. · 15 July 2024

I have been wearing them all day for over a week and find that they are light and easy to wear all day. They sound great, the nonstop play time is LONG, the touch controls are easy to activate, and the APP gives additional options!I have many in-ear, over-the-ear and open-ear headphones. I like to sometimes have open-ear headphones so I can hear what is happening around me. I wanted a lightweight pair with long play time, great sound, a small charging case footprint, easy controls, water resistant, and customizable sound. These have it all!The little oval case is about 3.5” long x 2” wide x 1” thick. It is like a rounded skipping stone that fits in the palm of the hand. I get 3 recharges off the case! The case recharges quickly using USB-C (a separate 3” cable comes with the case). As with all TrueFree headphones I have purchased, these were packed very elegantly in a box. On unpacking, I opened the headphone case and was greeted by the solid green dot on the case indicating it had a full charge. The stages of decreased charge state are indication intuitively on the single case light from solid to blinking and running through green, yellow, then red. I pulled out the headphones and removed the protective tape on the charge ports and put them back in, in case they needed to charge. There was a printed user guide in multiple languages. When I wanted to use them, I put them on and was very happy to find they were nearly imperceptible to wear. I don’t feel them at all. Left and right are marked on each earphone. In the APP on my phone (installed, signed in, and paired to the O2 set), I navigated to settings and performed a Firmware update for the headphones. That took only a moment. Then I tried out the different preset equalizers (EQ) and even made a few of my own. There is a wide range for adjustment to sound preference. I also went to a very quiet room and performed the hearing test. This generated a personalized EQ to my terrible hearing (lots of tinnitus). After choosing an EQ, I checked the charge state on each headphone - which can be seen in the APP.Finally, I started listening, the sound quality is fantastic. Still, I could hear ambient noises, so wearing these while running water for dishes or vacuuming made them harder to hear. However, the volume is STRONG! In a quiet setting, I am happy at 20- 30% and have room to spare if surrounding sounds are louder.I easily synced them with my phone, turned off phone Bluetooth and then quickly synced them with my computer. With Bluetooth on for both, the headphones work with whichever is playing sound. As with many headphones that pair to multiple devices, the one with sound takes over. If I turn off either device Bluetooth or “dual device connection” in the APP, then it will only connect to one at a time.I have taken a phone call on the headphones and was told I sound very natural. While they state 6.5 hours per charge, I think my first use of these lasted close to 8 hours before I was warned that the power was low!I am also super happy that these are water resistant. They are IPX5 (meaning protected from a stream of low-pressure water at any angle for up to 10 – 15 minutes ) making them suitable for workouts, bathing, showering, jacuzzi, or rain under 10-15 minutes. No swimming!NOTE for using with rain, showers, water sprays: the app allows turning off the touch controls so that water does not activate them and change sound, however I am finding that wet hair sitting on the headphones does turn them off.I am VERY happy with these and I recommend them. Now, about the APP (see images):While the APP is not required for normal headphone use, it does allow updates to the firmware, seeing headphone specific charge state, and personalizing the EQ and touch settings, etc.FYI, when the APP is opened it creates a new instance for itself in Bluetooth settings (mine says “ATS3025”), close the APP and that goes away. The APP allows sending issues to tech support (under Help and Feedback, pressing the avatar at the upper left corner) and also performing Firmware updates (in settings found at the upper right corner), so any little issues that arise in the APP get addressed and the headphones get updates.Once signed in to the APP the first time, it does not need to be done again. Each time the APP is opened, I quickly “Accept” and “Connect Device”. I watched the video in Bolo Qs on how to get to the register screen.( I think after selecting accept, I clicked “forgot” at the bottom and that is where the register option was. Enter email, enter a “letter only” password, click to get a code sent to email. Enter the code in the minute allotted, view the terms again and click Register. Try again if it does nothing. It will work after a few tries.)The APP lets me see the charge level of each earphone. I find this useful when deciding if I should charge them and use a different pair when planning on doing some things. The APP offers many preset EQ to select from as well as offering a customizable and savable EQ option. This makes me VERY happy, and I have been refining my own custom settings to suit my hearing!I love that I can DISABLE ALL TOUCH CONTROLS here! I have long hair and, when wet, I accidentally stop, play, or turn sound up or down. Disabling touch on demand is the solution.Game mode and dual device connection and be turned on/off in the APP. There is also a place to customize the touch settings. There is also a hearing test to personalize the EQ. This is very cool as it tests hearing sensitivity across a spectrum of sound frequency types in about 2 minutes and uses this to generate a personalized EQ setting. I would love to learn more about the tweaks made based on my weird hearing!

    Hervorragend...
