I've just had a hip replacement which was booked in at the last minute and I knew that I would need something to help me pick up things from the floor or out of reach places. The reviews were good for this one and at a good price set to arrive the next day (which it did). It is fairly sturdy, but lightweight and not too unweildy, it has a strap to hang it up and fold up into three parts with a piece of velcro to hold it together which makes easily convenient and portable.It s a vey good piece of kit and I would recommend it if you need something like this.

This grabber really ticks all the boxes. It is light-weight and is collapsible for easy storage. Despite its light weight, it is well made. It is easy to use and grabs objects firmly. I particularly like the fact that you can rotate the jaws to be either horizontal or vertical. The price is also very reasonable. I definitely recommend this product.

Bought for an elderly person with cancer. Picker, does what it supposed to do, neat foldable design. Very handy for travelling. Rubberised claws enhances grip with handy magnets to pick up keys etc. Lightweight design but not sure how robust it will be…

A very handy product to have around the home. It unfolds and locks into place, so its sturdy and pick up items with ease particularly when dropping items behind a fridge for example. Ideal if you cant bend your back/legs to pick items off the floor too .Takes very little room up

This grabber has really helped me. Due to a back injury I cannot bend down to pick things up and this is like an extra pair of hands (I didn't realise how often I dropped things until I couldn't pick them up anymore). It allows me to open drawers, get pans out of the cupboard, due to the magnets on it I was able to get a cake tin off a high shelf yesterday. The design means I can collapse it and take it with me if I am out and about and because it is a good length I have also used it as a bit of a walking stick when I have needed to. Really good value for money.

Well.. I obviously had to try it out as soon as it arrived. It came already folded and was easy to lock into place. Nice and lightweight. The magnets are surprisingly pretty strong and picked up a large soap and glory metal lid really well which shocked me! I picked up paper and plastic with ease with the grabber then tried it out on a trainer. No problem what so ever. And I also tried it out picking up heavier items like household spray, a cylindrical speaker. I'm pretty impressed with this. I only bought it to get rubbish that has blown into my bushes too where I can't reach. Quality and function is really good especially for a tenner!

Needed something following spinal surgery as unable to bend and have limited mobility. Has been really useful and I’m sure I’ll find lots of other uses for it once I’m better. Already think it will be handy to lower branches when pruning/dead-heading. Great buy at a great price!

I purchased this for 2 reasons. The first reason is that I’m short and my 6’2” boyfriend isn’t always around. The second reason is because I like to dumpster dive. Contrary to popular belief, dumpster diving isn’t about jumping into dumpsters. A lot of times it’s about standing on a step stool and using a stick or grabber to lift things up to look under and move things around. I’ve found everything from brand new items packaged to pet furniture and even retro consoles. However, as I mentioned, I’m short so I also have short reach. This grabber has been great. I love the magnetic end because if you drop your keys or need to get something metal it’s strong and will attract them and hold them so you can lift them up. I have a weak grip and find it easy to squeeze and manipulate this. I like that you can adjust the angle of the grabber from vertical to horizontal. The only issue I have is that I wish it were a tad bit longer, but that would also make it more difficult to lift things up due to the pressure it would put on the middle section. Overall I recommend it. Folds up nicely and saves space.

You need a "semi" strong grip to hold things you've grabbed

I got this because I have a similar one that is about a foot longer. I realized I didn't need it that long. This is the perfect length for me to use and be able to manage what I'm grabbing. However, I did find that this required a slightly stronger grip in order to keep things from slipping out or moving while being grasped. Not a "break your hand" type of grip, but certainly if you have arthritic hands/fingers, this may not work as well for you (it didn't for my mom, her 89 year old hands couldn't get the "hands" to close). The magnets on each hand is helpful as long as what you are trying to pick up is metal (magnetized). Two pounds is definitely the max weight it can hold; and even that was a little iffy if I was grabbing something overhead. I do like this style of grabbing tool (better than the ones with suction hands), and it's the right length for my needs.

My about two-year-old loves dragging her toys all over the living room and it was a pain having to get down to pick them all up when we wanted to clean, this grabber makes it so much easier. I am able to stand straight and pick up almost all of her toys without trying to mess my back up. It comes folded and to use it you just unfold it and snap a latch so it won't fold back up. It has a magnetic pick-up in the grabbers but I have not had to use that since it is mostly plastic toys. I haven't met any of her toys that were too heavy to pick up. I highly recommend this if you find yourself picking things up off the floor fairly often.

This is one of the best reacher-grabbers of 10 or so the that I own,, and it is the best of the folding variety. Most impressive is the bail latch that holds the two parts of the shaft securely together. Other use a plastic sleeve that seems like it will give way with slight lateral pressure. When folded a simple captive Velcro band hold the two parts together. The only weakness was difficulty picking up a quarter by its edges from a hard surface.Another great feature is the strap, which allows you to hang it up. I have two reachers in every room because the thing I have to pick up most often is another reacher.

This is one of those items you don’t need one until you need one. We dropped something behind a heavy dresser and this grabber saved me a ton of hassle and time! Worth every penny. The quality is on the cheap side, but it is 100% functional and works really well for what it does. I love the rotatable gripper. I like how you can fold up the arm to save space and for easy carrying. The main arm is made of sturdy aluminium, which is excellent, but besides from screws and metal rivets, etc., the rest of the main grabber is just low-cost lightweight plastic parts. The rubber parts do add some feel and ruggedness, so I definitely like that. I hope it lasts awhile, but only time will tell.Overall, a must have item for the home, especially if you have elderly folks in the household.
