This mini manual die cutting and embossing machine unfortunately failed in the user experience during my testing.The kit comes with a small 3" handle crank die cutting unit, the necessary cutting plates and shims, along with a small selection of square paper sheets. You also get included a stater die, 3 very nice embossing folders and a stamp.We are avid crafters in our family and have a couple of electric die cutting machines, however for small quick jobs i thought this would be ideal to have in our household, to save having to get out and set up the bigger die cutting machines.I tried the included die on both 80gsm white paper and 160gsm white card - unfortunately it failed to cut through on both sample cuts. The sandwich plate make up should be pretty standard on die cutting machines, however just in case i got it wrong i referred to the included instruction booklet - the sandwich with the two cutting plates i was using was correct. You can see in my review pictures that the die did cut some of the paper but most of the cut was still attached rendering it unusable. I thought i may have a damaged die, so i tried some of my own small dies and again the machine failed to apply enough pressure to cut through even the lightest of papers. I even tried to add another paper shim or two, but it still did not make a single clean cut.The embossing however worked brilliantly - nice clear 3d effect words appeared on my cardstock. I was very happy with the way the embossing worked with this machine.In summary i am afraid i can not recommend this as a die cutting machine, it just fails it's its most basic of tasks. If you need a small embosser then this machine does that brilliantly - but for cut work it just didn't perform.

Ordered this item as my partner wanted to get into the card making/embossing. The item arrived well packed and supplied with all the accessories (die cutters, mats and embossers) to start your projects. This is a small unit however, so output will be limited (3inch). The machine is well made and comes with a detailed instruction guide, to help you get started. My partner made a get well card for a work colleague and the results were pretty impressive- looking on par with any professional offering. Price break wise, the kit is maybe on the expensive side, given that you are likely to move onto a bigger unit once you have "cut your teeth" on this to start. The inclusion of accessories to vary your projects is a great touch and offer that value add to your purchase. Great starter kit- highly recommended.
