Finding comfortable shoes has been a life long quest. I thought thick spongy souls with bounce were the answer. They weren't.Having a wide toe box, firm flat souls, the kind of flexibility that confirms to your natural foot mechanics, and the ground at the same time, are the key.This shoe does all that.Additionally, I'm a barista and waiter, and like walking in the rain. So choosing the leather option, means water, coffee, milk, fairy washing up liquid, hot sauce, smoothies etc have rolled right off.The shoes are filthy, but my socks are dry and unstained, all day every day!I've gone through many many shoes, and this brand has finally ticked all the boxes.Thank you, Hobibear!

I have wide, long, natural feet. I have never worn tight, narrow or pointed-toe shoes. And at 53 I am very glad! I still have the lovely wide toe spaces I was born with. Anyway, it is great to find a naturally shaped shoe, as so many trusted brands have narrowed the toe (even Doc Martens have restyled and now push your toes together). These Hobibear are very soft and comfy they are smart enough for work. They seem well made but feel nice and light. I take a size 9.5 (told you I have long feet). Sometimes I can wear a 9, but I did have to swap these for the size 10 (UK), which are perfect. I am delighted with these shoes.When I reordered them on Sunday I paid £45. Today they cost £35, which seems a bit weird and unfair. But I am very pleased with the shoes.

These aren't the widest around the ankle but are great if your feet are wide. I'm a size 5.5 and the 5.5 fit perfectly. My toes actually feel weirdly squished in normal shoes now. I like that they are waterproof but because they don't seem to be real leather, they can make your feet a bit hot in warmer weather. They were comfy for wearing to work, shopping and shorter distances. But anything over 10,000 steps and they really hurt your heels as the sole is too thin to help with support for the bottom of your feet. Feels like you're literally pounding the pavement.So good shoes at good value if you're not walking too far.

As others have said, this is not real leather. It's polyurethane aka plastic, which put me off buying them for a while as I've heard it's less breathable.For office use and walking around town, however, this has not been a problem at all. In fact the PU material has some benefits: fully waterproof (even leather is porous so will soak eventually), no polishing or maintenance really, and it still looks shiny and new.I've replaced the insoles (which I find does wear out quick) with a nice flat 100% wool one. This retains my zero drop but adds some natural feelings fibres to my toes, as well as wicking away sweat, so I don't feel the PU provides any disadvantages. I still feel the ground, it's lightweight, no ankle rigidity so perfect for clutch control on a car.Compared to vivobarefoot, whose shoes cost 4x as much, this is a no brainer. If Hobibears didn't exist I would have started my own barefoot drop shopping company. This is a niche that needs to be filled with more competitively priced options.

I bought these to wear with a Tuxedo (because I'm not allowed to were my a Bio Vivo Primus 2's).They appear well constructed. Quality materials, etc. mass padding at the Achilles. On putting my foot in, I was caught by how cushioned they are. I questioned if they are zero-drop. Oddly spring like. But I've not had a foam/cushioned insole for a very long time. I much prefer these without the insole. However, I'm not sure the material I'm now walking on (under the insole )will do to well.I think at 40£ these are well priced if they last a 3 years, give it take.17years barefoot/zero drop/wide toe box.

Had persistent problems finding shoes wide enough to fit me that were also waterproof, and these are just that. They're not quite like walking barefoot, but they are zero drop, and much less cushioned than anything else I've found. I'm hoping they'll make a good transitional shoe to barefoot, and there is an insole in them I could take out to reduce cushioning further. Although I was hoping to transition to barefoot with these, I'm honestly just thrilled I don't get wet socks every time it rains anymore. I would say true to size - I've always been between sizes (5 in vans, 5.5/6 in Nike and Adidas), and these fit perfectly in 5.5. Despite being a faux leathery material, they haven't rubbed me at all even though I jumped in and wore them walking once, then for a full day. I'm thrilled and will get more pairs, including a breathable version for dry days. They do look slightly goofy compared to normal shoes, but nobody's said anything and I don't think it's that noticeable really.

Extremely wide fitting with plenty of toe room. Feels about a half size smaller in length than stated, a 9 feels more like 8 1/2.I also have a high instep and the shoes are big enough to allow for this but the laces were to short and I had to buy longer ones.Very comfortable and I will be happy to buy again.
