Why did you choose this product over others?:great boots but the holes for the laces are not smooth causing laces to wear quickly. i've had to file mine to stop this happening. other than that i think they will last a while and are comfortable enough.

For safety boots, these are actually really comfortable! They give solid protection, especially around the toes, but don’t feel too heavy or restrictive. The grip is great, and they seem durable so far. A solid choice if you need reliable work boots.

I like Black Hammer. I was previously sent a pair of their steel-toe worker boots before, and they are both practical and hard-wearing, so a reassuring buy, yet at a reasonable price point.Furthermore, for boots that can be heavy, worn for long lengths of time, they’re also very comfortable. While I’ll double up my socks when wearing them (or just wear thicker socks), they never lack soft insoles to make stomping around a little lighter.This time round, there’s no safety certificate in the box - I can find them online from the product labelling, but my previous box had them thrown in for good measure.From touch and feel alone, your toes are protected, whereas other areas are softened for dexterity and flexibility. The sole is quite bendy, allowing you to bend the toe and heel towards each other. Leather upper, textile lining, and synthetic bottom sole. The wrinkles will work their way into the upper in no time. It will be interesting to see how they wear.The usual tissue paper stuffing inside the body is now polystyrene foam, so landfill I can’t recycle. I’m sure paper would have been just as cost-effective.While fashion over practicality that can also save a limb or a toe isn’t the first thing that springs to mind, the removal of a discrete stitched brand label in exchange for a printed brand name in generic font cheapens the look of these a little. Not even the brand’s font - just Arial.Although these are suited for warehouses and not building sites, and thus have less protection around the full foot, it’s a shame to see smaller details with packing and finish go amiss for final finishes. Packaging is the first experience of a brand, so I hope something as small as replacing plastics with paper as shoe stuffing can be made at a minimum, and to some degree, staying on brand with the labelling font, just to keep these guys standing out from the competition.
