Very soft, good quality and leaves a clear white mark. Good amount in the pack, though they do seem a bit much for the nature of the product.Could also do with better packaging as there is not much to protect the fragile charcoal inside from breaking. They worked for my art project fine, so happy with them overall.

I have used a lot of charcoal pencils over the years and these were awful. Many were broken throughout the lead and all were impossible.to sharpen because the quality of the wood is so poor.
