OK, had to use this. I'm covered in concrete dust but it works. Just ordered another one.

I had formed up the ground underneath an outbuilding we had been using for a while that was next to another outbuilding that had a solid cement floor. I had scheduled the cement truck to come but I had a conflict so I was going to cancel but my dad said he could handle the simple 12 ft x 10 ft pour. I reluctantly agreed to let him after he told me how many times he had helped my grandpa pour cement. I left my 17 year old to supervise .I came back hours later to find that it had a nice downhill slope and where it was joined to the other building it ended uo being four inches lower (which we planned for) but he had what looked like open ocean breakers of cement beating against the side of the tiny 4 inch wall. Now years later we have to install some equipment against that wall and those "waves" need to go. So I had recently acquired this from ZIMPTY at Bolo, put it on my 4" grinder and started blasting away.Well, I have to tell you when this wheel is fresh, it spits out concrete like a dragster spits out flames. It was simply chewing through some pretty tough aggregate concrete and smoothing it out level with the floor. IN one place it basically had to take out a 3 inch wide 2 inch high block that was 9 inches long. That is tough for any wheel and grinder. It took about 6 or 7 minutes but it chewed through it. I had to stop grinding every 10 to 15 minutes because the grinder was too hot and I would blow compressed air through the grinder to speed up the cooling process. After about an hour of actually grinding, I got a lot done but the cold and diamonds were gone. Surprisingly it kept working but at about 75% of the speed it was doing before and the grinder gets hot quicker. I've already ordered another one of these. I guess that is the highest praise I can give it. It's Friday and it won't be here until Tuesday. PRIME is not what it used to be.But I am still giving it FIVE STARS!
Fits my Dewalt grinder and chews concrete like it's clay
When ordering this grinding wheel, my biggest concern was if it would actually fit on my Dewalt cordless grinder. The arbor hole was a perfect fit, but I did have to massage the metal guard just a little bit. I wasn't worried about the wheel, but any contact with the guard would wear down the guard itself. Again, fortunately there was only a slight amount of contact, a result of the guard being bent from use.So I took the grinding wheel on a test run in anticipation of taking on a new project. I acquired several large blocks of repurposed interstate highway concrete, about 30x40x18 inches, that I intend to use as steps on the bank of my pond. The edges are pretty jagged from being ripped up from the highway, and I just wanted to smooth them out. This grinding wheel attacked the concrete like it was a block of clay. I really didn't expect it to be so aggressive and efficient. It ate through both the concrete and the aggregate rock with ease. In no time I had put a 45 degree bevel on the first side of the block. That's as far as I got though. A flood this summer put the blocks under water and altered the bank of the pond, and I haven't gotten back to it yet. Still, this grinding wheel is gonna make the rest of the project so easy once I get around to it.My only real concern now is just how long the wheel might last. That's always a question when reviewing consumable goods though, isn't it? I haven't used it enough to comment on that, except to say my initial observation leads me to believe it will handle the three blocks I have to work with.
Easy to use but not for polishing
This fit my angle grinder perfectly and was easy to use. The disk made quick work of cleaning up a rough reclaimed slab of marble. The stone was badly pitted and this quickly took down the material past the pitting. This by no means will leave you a "polished" finish, to achieve a proper polished finish you will need a much finer grit and then multiple wet sanding with an several even finer grits.Happy to have added this to my collection of grinder disks and will get future use from this resurfacing/grinding tool.
A favorite for sure
I have a glorious collection of diamond grinding wheels for my angle grinders, and this one is definitely in one of the top spots. We are grinding out and replacing all of the mortar in our flagstone over concrete pool deck and when that is complete, we’ll be doing the same for our front walkway - also flagstone over concrete. Flagstone not being uniform in shape or thickness, our mortar lines vary a lot, so we employ different tools - hammer drill with chisel, angle grinder with thick wheel like this one, and angle grinder with a thinner, diamond edged wheel. This excellent Diamond Concrete Grinding Wheel has lasted and lasted and lasted. It is spectacularly aggressive in removing material, so I can get a lot done in a couple of hours. I do have to be careful because I installed this on my best angle grinder that has a bigger motor and spins much faster, and I really struggled to get it loose. Now, I make sure I loosen and tighten it back at least once while I’m working because none of the YouTube videos I watched showed a way to remove a stuck wheel without destroying it. FWIW - I used the vice method and replaced the nuts in case there was any hidden damage. All the stars on this one!
Works Well. Priced Right
I got this to remove several areas of mortar on a concrete floor in a condo unit that had burned down. The unit was scraped clean to the slab, but areas of tile mortar remained. I used this grinding wheel to smooth out the high spots. It worked well, and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
