5.0 out of 5 stars Quality and reliable *compliant* charger
First things first: this item has only just arrived so I cannot yet attest to its longevity. I'll come back in a year, or 2, or 3 and tell you how it's going. For now though, it's working just as I'd intended and I'm happy with it.It replaces a succession of multi-port chargers that didn't last the distance. I've had about two or three in as many years and they all seem to go pop just outside of the warrant period. Now – fair do's – these chargers were no-name Chinese wonders that provided somewhere between 100W to 200W or power to a variety of devices and they weren't exactly extortionately expensive. But even at £40-ish, you want a bit more than a year's use from them. This is all my long-winded way of saying that this time, I resolved to buy something decent from a known-name manufacturer and Belkin are a relatively trustworthy company. I usually swerve their products because I feel they are too expensive for what they are (even for a quality brand) but this charger I bought in a Black Friday sale: Usually £40 but mine for £22.So things I like about this charger:– It's made by Belkin. It's going to be quality.– It's proper USB-IF spec Power Delivery (PD) charging and not the non-compliant Chinese wonder versions.– It provides 67W of power. I plugged it into a Microsoft Surface 5 Laptop and it charged it all full speed. I'm going to assume it was charging at full whack in around the 60W range.– Charging at 60W (I presume) made the charger hot but not alarmingly so. A nice hand-warmer in the winter months.I think the best way to think of this charger is a dual-duty: 1. single USB-C laptop charger OR 2. a two or three port phone or device charger. Definitely not both at once! It's rated to provide a max of 67W and if you plug in a laptop, it's going to suck all of those 60+W up in one go leaving nothing else for any other devices. If you plug in other devices, they might begin to charge but your laptop will probably stop charging. Unplug your laptop and plug in a standard smartphone, or two, or three, and it'll dynamically share the 60+W equally between the ports at around 20W a port. That's the standard speed most phones charge at these days unless you have an ultra-modern wonder with 45W input charging. For a laugh, I plugged in a Microsoft Surface 5 Laptop at 50% battery, an iPad with 100% battery, and a USB-C powered wireless Qi charger with nothing drawing power. The iPad appeared to be receiving charge. The Wireless charger appeared to charge a phone, but I noticed the laptop would flick between charging/not charging every second. I unplugged the wireless charger and the Surface appeared to stabley and consistently charge and so did the iPad. Perhaps when the power drain is maxed, it cannot coped with three devices being plugged in at the same time.So there you have it. I intend to use this charger as either a singular laptop charger, or a multi-device charger for a few lower-powered devices and not both at once which won't work anyway. If you're looking to power and charge a few laptops at once, go looking for at least a 200W or 300W multiport charger that'll cost you into the hundreds for a decent brand. If you've found this review useful, please do me a favour: go and tell someone how much they mean to you, how much you love and appreciate them, and you're lucky to have them. We're not here for long.
5.0 out of 5 stars Charges three devices very fast
Charges devices very fast and can charge up to three devices at once. Great for travelling or home use. It is quality construction as can be expected from Belkin. Only downside is it can get warm when charging lots of devices but it handles better than other brands.
4.0 out of 5 stars Didn’t last
The Belkin BoostCharge 3-in-1 is a really neat bit of kit. It does exactly what it’s supposed to — charges my iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all at once without any clutter. The design is clean and modern, and its compactness makes it ideal for desks or bedside tables without taking up much space. In terms of functionality, it’s plug-and-play with decent charging speed. The size is ideal, and overall build quality seems solid on the surface. However, I’ve only had mine for around six months, and it’s already started to fail. That’s a letdown for something at this price point, and it knocks the quality rating down for me. When it works, it’s great — but I expected better reliability from Belkin. If you get a good unit, it’s a fantastic charger. I just wish mine had lasted longer.
5.0 out of 5 stars works a treat.
Great for keeping the clutter at pay and freeing up plug sockets.
5.0 out of 5 stars Streamlined my travel packing
Great product, slimmed down my travel packing
1.0 out of 5 stars Damaged the usb-c port on my MacBook Pro
I use this charger in the evenings when watching Netflix on my MacBook Pro. I use the top right usb-c port for this. During the day my original mac charger uses the top left USB c port. After several days of using this charger the the port has destabilised and now won’t allow me to connect to my Wacom pad or monitor through it. I reset the NVRAM and this helped for a day but then returned to not working properly. I now have to take my laptop for repairs! The money I saved in not buying a spare Apple charger has been worth the money I now need to spend in getting a new charger and laptop repairs!
5.0 out of 5 stars quality piece of kit!
I absolutely love this charger! Superb for travel, as I can use just one charger for my Macbook, iPhone, and headphones - when only using a single port and getting the full 67 watts, it seems to charge just as quick as the massive charging brick that comes with my 2021 Macbook pro. Fast charging with multiple ports works as expected. It's solid and compact enough. Only downside is there's no USB cables included, but otherwise it's been a reliable and rock solid little travel pal.
4.0 out of 5 stars A good usb socket, but I have an issue with the high out port
A good usb socket, but I have an issue with the high out port that I now need to investigate and I’ve only had the plug a couple of months.I don’t want to give less stars until I’ve worked out what’s wrong, but it isn’t the cable as it works on the other ports.Charge speed is good from the two lower output ports, was really good on the high output one. It’s a good design and is quite compact. It’s plug in a leave so easy to work, or was until a port stopped charging.
As expected
