We often have friends to stay and this looked like it would be a useful luggage stand, particularly as it can be folded flat for storage. This stand is a great idea in principle, like those you find in hotel rooms, unfortunately it is let down badly by poor instructions and poor fittings.⚠️ The metallic-looking corner joints are actually silver-coloured plastic, so be careful not to over-tighten the screws or the plastic will split. Although the instructions make no mention of it, pairs of the plastic joints need to be bolted together using a 6mm Allen key and the supplied nuts, which need to be very loose during assembly and gently tightened together to complete the stand. If you use an electric screwdriver, make sure you set it to its minimum torque setting.⚠️One side of the frame had the holes which the dowels go into out of alignment with the hinge screws. Apart from making it more difficult to assemble, it prevents it from closing properly. It also makes it rocky and unstable when open.
