It is a must for us flat footers, the years of constant bang on the heel while walking does take its toll, and this makes it a lot more comfy.

I found these to be the best of many other styles of cushioning I have tried to relieve heel pain when used in conjunction with full length cushions too. The heel support going in the shoe first then the cushion on top. Some relief but don't expect the effect to last long, maybe just an hour or two if you are going to be on your feet for a long time. Worth the money and they have been in use daily now for over a month without any signs of deterioration so far.

If you are a natural heel striker your shoes soles/insoles will naturally wear away much quicker under your heel. These inserts will restore the feel to something approaching like it when it was new.
