Inaccurate, display rotation problems and refused to even give a reading at all often. Checked against two other meters just to make sure. Junk.No attempts to get me to change review please. Product was defective end of.

This pulse oximeter gives accurate readings and in my opinion is as good as a hospital device, having compared performance with a Garmin watch I'm satisfied the readings are correct which for me is essential having had a triple heart bypass a few months ago.The device is well made and the Citizen brand gives me more confidence with regards to quality.

The readings seem accurate compared to others, but being a fixed LED display it has one big disadvantage over ones with an LCD display - you can't change the display orientation. It's oriented such that someone else who is putting the oximeter on your finger can read it easily, but it's upside down for you. I had a bit of a fright when first trying it and trying to read it upside down - very confusingly, the bar graph showing pulse is to the right of the blood oxygen percentage figure in the bottom half, not next to the pulse figure in the top half, so I assumed the figures were the other way around and though I was about to die with a really low SpO2 figure!It has an auto off facility such that it turns itself off a couple of seconds after you have taken your finger out. Powered by 2 x AAA batteries which are included, plus small lanyard included.

The media could not be loaded. I am currently under treatment for high BP which has made me more conscious of my general health, so I thought I'd add this to my checks to monitor my oxygen sats.The pack comes ready to go, batteries are included along with a lanyard and instructions. The device itself is very easy to use, simply squeeze the clip to open, slot over your finger amd release. Then press the small button on the front and the device will start to measure. Let it measure for.a.fee seconds and it will display your O2 saturation and heart rate.I don't have a way to validate the result, but it did compare to my watch so it seems accurate. The pulse certainly gives an accurate reading so I do feel that I can trust it.Overall, although not cheap, this seems like a good quality well designed device that will be a good source of information if you need to know (or are just interested to know), your O2 saturation levels.

It does this by emitting light wavelengths through a translucent part of your body, such as a fingertip or earlobe, and measuring the amount of light absorbed by oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin.The device then calculates the oxygen saturation level, which represents the percentage of hemoglobin molecules in the arterial blood that are saturated with oxygen. This measurement, often abbreviated as SpO2, gives an indication of how well oxygen is being transported from the lungs to the rest of the body.Additionally, pulse oximeters also measure your heart rate by detecting the pulsatile component of blood flow in the area being monitored.Pulse oximeters are commonly used in medical settings such as hospitals, clinics, and emergency rooms, but they are also available for home use. They are particularly useful for monitoring individuals with respiratory conditions, such as asthma, COPD, or sleep apnea, as well as for assessing the oxygen levels of patients during surgeries or in critical care situations.A pulse oximeter can be used in a lot of different scenarios - most notably during the Covid-19 crisis, where it was important to monitor oxygen saturation levels in those suspected of or confirmed cases of Covid-19, as it detects signs of hypoxemia early & allows for prompt intervention through treatment.The CITIZEN pulse oximeter is simple to use. Slide the bottom cover & insert the 2 supplied AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Slide back the cover & then press the button on the display to turn on. Using the "crocodile clip" mechanism, open the reader & insert the patient's finger into the slot. After 10 seconds, a reading of the pulse rate & the oxygen saturation level will be displayed. A reading below 90% is considered low & could prompt a referral to a medical practitioner for further tests, advice or treatment.As you can see from the video, even with one hand on the phone to record the video, installation & operation is pretty straightforward. The only downside is the Citizen pulse oximeter is clearly designed for someone to use on a patient, as the reading appears upside down to the person who is having their blood oxygen saturation reading being taken. It is pretty easy to read upside down, as the LED display is nice and bright.Overall, a great item to keep alongside a thermometer & a great price just below £20!
