Not recommended for sound blocking

If buying to stop drafts, this may work but as I bought it strictly to block sound, I was shocked that it did little to nothing which was very disappointing given it’s advertised to have superior noise suppression qualities. Upon asking to return it, I was repeatedly offered only a half discount and it wasn’t until I complained to Bolo that a full refund was offered.

A Good Quality of Weatherstrip

This is a good product that will probabley last a good while. They give you little gloves to apply the cleaner / adhesion booster. I put this on a screen door that is a glossy metal. It didn't stick well on the ends. The problem with these seals that come in a roll, is they want to unroll when you don't want them to. I wil have to apply a weatherstrip adhesive. My application was difficult and requires three different thcknesses to get the job done. On the bottom of my door I used one on the bottom, which is a channel, and another one on the inside face of the door. It is no reflection on this weatherstip, just the difficulty of the job.

Poor adhesion to wood

I purchased this weather stripping to seal around an attic door. The strips pealed away from some of the areas. The painted wood had been thoroughly cleaned with alcohol prior to application. You'd think this seller would test their products for superior performance. Otherwise, they'd have a 5-star product versus an average 3-star rating. WAKE UP AND IMPROVE THIS ITEM

Better than oem kerf weather strip

I trimed the original weather strip down to the first solid piece of original rubber that was attached directly to the door kerf. Make sure you measure depth; if the new strip encroaches on the lock strike plate it, will be difficult to latch the door.Cleaned the area with two wipes of an alcohol dampened cloth and stuck the new strip directly to the cleaned area. After install, cannot see light through the door jamb which is a big change from the original door strip.Total instant adhesion that has now remained solidly stuck though several days of door usage.Dont strip off too much of the red adhesive cover at once and make sure you give it a good push in place as you work the new strip in place. Also, sticks much better when target area warmer than 50 degrees so get out the hair dryer if you weather is colder ( your new strip should be at room temp also). I would leave the door closed and locked for a few hours after installation to insure full adhesion.

When I ordered this product to replace the door's seal that my outside male cat had used for a scratching post and play thing, the temperature was steadily around the mid 70s, but the day I received it Yehovah-God sent sub-zero temps along with a snow storm! Figured I wouldn't get to put it on until next Spring but we finally got a day with 47* + sunshine+ no wind. I dug out my old hair blow-dryer and used it to heat up the door's frame after cleaning it with paint thinner, and put the new seal on. It stuck almost too well at once when I had to re-adjust a portion because it wasn't straight and kept the door from closing. I was able to gently pull it off, re-heat the frame, and put the seal back down. I then ran the blow dryer over the seal just to warm it up without getting too hot to set the adhesive better, and it has stuck! Our temperatures are back down in the freezing point most of the time with short periods in the morning when the sun does come out but nothing above 40*. Although this seal is a bit wider than the original, I needed the depth to seal the door's space between it and the frame. Glad I got this one because the other one I also ordered at the same time would have been too shallow, leaving a slight gap.
