I hadn't a clue what this did when l purchased it, other than printer would not work without it being replaced. I was expecting it to be really expensive but it's under a tenner. It was so easy to install [another worry] and immediately everything was back working and you could see straight away an improvement in print clarity. I am going to order another so l am prepared next time.

After reading the manual, I found it at the front underneath the front flap of the printer, however I needed to order one as they come chipped to work with the printer.It was easily removed and the new one installed with just a screw. Drama over but I did realise that I should have one ready for the next time as there is no warning when one is needed. Waiting for a new box might only take a few days but that delay means no printing.So a replacement ready for that day. It comes with that all important disposal bag as remember, the box you removed is full of ink. Take care with it.If you don't have one you should seriously think about getting one ready.4 STAR

I had never heard of an ink maintenance box until my printer asked for one. This is the first printer I have owned that has needed one. In the past I have had a printer stop working, I think because it had reached the limit of its waste ink storage. This is a much better system if it means the printer will last for longer.The maintenance box works perfectly and installed without any problems. I have never bought a genuine Epson ink box so I can't compare them but I certainly don't have any issues with this item. The price isn't excessive so full marks.
