I received this Brieftons QuickPush Salad Spinner just in time for Thanksgiving preparations. I have used it quite a bit in the last two days and it sure has been a great help and timesaver. I started off with fresh blueberries that needed to be washed and sorted in order to make pies. The basket on this spinner is large enough that I had no trouble doing two pints of berries at one time. I used the inside basket as a colander to both rinse and sort the berries then put it in the spinner and pumped it just two times and it just kept on spinning. By the time it stopped spinning I had everything ready for the pies. What a wonderful job it did on my delicate berries. Unlike other spinners that you have to keep cranking to make them spin this requires just one easy push of the plunger and it keeps on spinning. There is a break button that you can use to stop the spinning, but I just let it spin till it stopped. This morning I had a large head of romaine lettuce that needed to be cleaned for salad. Again I used the inside basket as a colander (love not having to get my colander out and have more stuff in my small sink) This time however, I left the basket inside the bowl and filled it with water to wash my lettuce real good then just lifted the basket and let it drain while I emptied the bowl. I Gave it a couple spins and now I have beautiful clean romaine for my salad today. Best part, after I emptied out the water I just locked the plunger and put the whole thing in the refrigerator till I'm ready to make the salad. I'm planning to just dump the lettuce out of the colander into the bowl and add the rest of my ingredients and it will look great on the table as a serving bowl. I have quite a few of Brieftons products and this new salad spinner certainly lives up to the high quality products I'm used to getting from them. I highly recommend this product.

Good quality bowl, helps me store salads and once I cut them, I'm more likely to actually eat them so this helps me on fitness journey.

I have owned salad spinner for a decade and I think it's time to try a new style. The first photo is a comparison between this unit (Brieftons 6.3 Quart) and my old one (a little smaller and use a pull string). In summer when I have an abundance of veggies and herbs from my garden, I make a good use of salad spinner daily. Here is Pros and Cons about Brieftons Salad Spinner.Pros:- Very Smooth Push at a knob enable One Handed Operation- Modernized Square Design at the Knob, Brake Button, and Knob-Lock (as appose to a round look)- Material use is BPA Free and appeared to be well made (and hopefully last a long time)- Knob Lock Down feature for space saving storage- Large Size for my need esp. for herb cleaning (I dehydrate certain herbs that I grow for year round usage)- Non-slip base making the bowl stay put on countertop during operationCons (-0.5* if possible) :- Many openings (access holes) under the lid making it hard to totally dry before stow it away. BTW, I never have a dirty inside lid. Veggies have Never stuck there in my old one as it's a smooth surface. Hopefully, I don't need to rinse or clean inside of Brieftons lid too.- There is non-slip ring at the bottom of the bowl. It does help the bowl stay put during operation which is a good thing. BUT when cleaning, water gets in between the bowl and the ring. It's removable as shown in the photos. I just have to make sure that it's dry before putting it back. So, mold doesn't grow there.

Attractive salad spinner - generous size!

The one drawback to this nice spinner is that the lettuce or greens must be washed ahead of time and separately - as in the kitchen sink! Then the second step is to put the washed greens into the spinner and proceed to spin out the moisture that is left on the greens. My spinner that served me for twenty years was designed so that unwashed greens could be loaded into the inner basket and by turning on the water while pulling a strong ribbon (string) to accelerate the spinning of the inner basket for a few minutes, the greens got washed in the basket and then, as the water was turned off, the spinning continued to spin out the excess rinse water, leaving the greens fresh and moist, but not wet. Only if there were obvious signs of dirt or soil on the leaves was there a need to wash the leaves separately before loading them into the spinner basket. The one step process to wash, rinse, and spin the greens in the basket was convenient and time saving. This salad spinner is attractive, was well packed, and is a generous size. It seems to be quite sturdy and spins out the excess water fairly well, if I spin repeatedly for several minutes.
