Quiet and cold
Works Great as advertised
We have a large old house with an open downstairs layout. For years, we have had one large room air conditioner and then used large fans to pull the air to other parts of the downstairs, but this never cooled off the kitchen which is 2 large rooms away. So when Prime Days came around, we took advantage of a great deal to purchase this quality product and put it in the window nearest to the other parts of the downstairs. This was a particularly scorching summer at times and our old methods weren't cooling off the downstairs well enough during those extreme heat warning stints. This air conditioner is ridiculously easy to set up (actually made me realize how I put the one in my bedroom together incorrectly, without looking at the directions) and wasn't too heavy to lift up to put into a 6-foot high kitchen window--even for this person with a bad back. The unit fits 95% perfectly into the window and the old, uneven windows of our 140-year-old home likely are to blame for that. The noise is truly minimal for what it does. And the remote control is very simple and easy for my senior mother to use, instead of having to use the buttons on the unit. I love that it is eco friendly and that it won't use expensive energy when we don't need it.Lastly, I will say that I am sure it will work beyond great if you use it for just one closed-off room. However, people like us who need to cool off more than that area, I can say that it does cool strong enough that you can use a fan to pull the air to another room. Since adding this conditioner to the kitchen, the downstairs has been overall very pleasant despite the latest extreme heat stint. And I'm not overly concerned about the next electric bill as I know it helped use other forms of cooling less overall. We purchased this under a great deal but I would say it is well worth the expense and future savings for you to buy it at full price!
Cools a 576 sq. ft. garage
I bought this knowing it was undersized for my 576 sq.ft. garage but it was the biggest one that fits in the window I have. The louver kit to fill the side spaces was too big to use, I could cut it down but I just used 3" strips of high density foam I happened to have. For the last couple of days it has been keeping the insulated garage 5 degrees colder than the outside, it took a couple of hours to get it there but it doesn't seem to have trouble maintaining it. It defaults to Eco mode, which shuts it off when it reaches the set temp and then turns on every 10 minutes to check the temperature. I shut this off when I'm in there because I want a constant flow of air, it works well when you're not there. The unit remembers your settings when you unplug it, which is great if you are using it with a smart plug, only Eco Mode resets, that will always come back on. According to my Peanut Plug, it pulls 60w when running just the fan, 350-370w when running the compressor maintaining temp and 450-480w when it was cooling down the space 5 degrees. This unit seems to use the water it condenses to splash the condenser, which is a good idea but it does make a bit of noise, especially as the fan is slowing down, you hear what sounds like running water, the manual says this is normal. There is A LOT of water in the tray, you have to make sure not to tip the unit forward in your window. I definitely would not want to risk leaving this unit out too long in the fall, it will freeze. Removing it from the window is probably going to involve dumping a few cups of water on myself because there is no drain plug and it specifically says in the manual not to attempt to drill one or it voids the warranty. I'm knocking a star off for this because that seems like an oversight. On my unit there was one small crack in the styrofoam fan shroud which I don't think will affect performance. Considering how bad the delivery guy beat the box up I was surprised there were no dents. Bolo: Stop putting heavy boxes with straps inside bigger, flimsier boxes people can't carry!
Très puissante.
Parfait. Comme indiqué. Je conseille fortement.
