Strong, sturdy and have been used, over and over again.
5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job!
Brought product as had seen rat come out my garden compost bin. Set all 4 traps with a piece of cheese in the bait area. Been out in garden (corners where I thought it would go) and about slightly over 1 week and success!I have to say really easy to activate and set up, wasn’t sure if it would work as others posted comments saying that it wouldn’t hold a rat.I understand that this product is designed to destroy rats/mice - but chose to be a quick death and avoid having an infestation.I did check my traps regularly to check bait and no other wildlife had been drawn too (cats regularly wander through).Overall recommend product as good value for money and feel it caught and killed quickly as designed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Does that job and worth the money
Works well enough....not always instant kill...but look its not an extract science killing rodents these have caught quite a few....their no use for small mice that aren't grown yet for that you will need a smaller mouse trap...regular size ones will do.
4.0 out of 5 stars Slick quick and easy to bait
So far I've destroyed 3 rats with these traps ( suggest half a fig roll biscuit smeared with peanut butter as ideal bait) . Unlike the traditional wood and wire based traps which are very clunky to set, these plastic traps can be set either by hand or clicking your foot over the mechanism to set them. Smooth and simple.WARNING : The force these traps snap shut could easily break your fingers so BE CAREFUL , the bait plate activitates at a hair's breadth of pressure. If unsure use your booted foot to press down and set the mechanism AFTER you've baited it...NEVER before. And finally...rats are very clever. The first time I used them I eliminated 3 separate rats. Quite humane - rats die instantly. However this morning I noticed 3 of the traps had successfully gone off but caught no rats. I think the rodents have already sensed danger and figured out how to extract the bait gently from behind before the trap goes off. So killing your first 4 rats with these traps should be easy, after that however , rats catch wise and don't repeat the same mistake. Time will tell...
5.0 out of 5 stars Instant kill
Great, instant kill
1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't kill rats instantly small print reads suitable for small Mice
Easy to setup medium size, doesn't kill rats although title of product states Rat Traps heavy duty it doesn't kill instantly also in the small print does say suitable to catch Small Mice! Did catch 2 rats in 2 days but not humanely the first rat caught up in 2 traps but still wriggling. the 2nd rat following day head in trap but wriggling very unpleasant to deal with will research better trap that kills humanley. Title should read mouse trap not rats.
3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't trigger reliably (But can be modified)
They do not trigger reliably. They're poorly and cheaply made. For £15 I thought they would be good. I've had rats walk all over the trap and eat all the chocolate and they don't trigger. I pointed my Blink camera at one to see if they were being clever, but they're not, they're just bad traps. I thought they were metal (premium) but they're not, just flimsy plastic, they're worth a couple of quid each. I don't believe they would often lead to a clean kill even if they did trigger. Very disappointed.Edit: I've upped to 3* as a simple modification makes these work better, I drilled 2 small holes in the bottom of the bait trap and inserted a wire loop which holds the bait down and in place, this makes the rat work harder to pull the bait up causing the lever to go down and activate. I also learnt that you can also push the lever down slightly when you set it and that means less pressure is required when the rat comes along, but you risk catching your fingers unless you counterhold the trap open carefully - probably not recommended. At least now with these mods, they're catching rats.
5.0 out of 5 stars they work good price
best traps ever you cant hurt yourself when setting up for mice or rats worth the money
