5.0 out of 5 stars YOU NEED TO BOIL IT 100% works
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } So like many others I ordered a solid tyre without reading the finer details thinking It would be like fitting an air tyre however this tyre WILL NOT FIT in its standard form, it just doesn't have the give, that is until you follow the instructions to the letter. So, as per my images which I upload to help others specifically that are struggling. I placed the tyre in a wok wide enough to let me flip the tyre every few minutes.I placed the tyre in the water while it was cold and turned the heat to the highest setting on your hob top and let it heat for fifteen minutes while the water warmed up, and while you are waiting using some metal grippers I kept flipping the tyre over to the other side, so both sides were heated evenly, now I was worried will this thing start melting and stick but you needn't worry, it won't at all. After fifteen minutes, I turned off the heat waited one minute and then heated it for a further TEN minutes exactly on the max heat setting.I had ready on the floor, a large bath towel with the rim ready and my tools, these were the metal tyre tool that comes with the solid tyre and a few screw drivers for leverage. At the end of the ten minutes I very carefully removed the tyre, I strongly suggest you wear protective gloves and goggle's as the ridges inside the tyre hold water so I had to let this drain by gently rotating it over the wok for a few seconds then I quickly moved straight onto the bath towel by this point I was strongly thinking this isn't going to work as the tyre felt Exactly the same as before going in the water ie rock solid with no give, now this is the tipping point as actually to your hands it will feel solid but not the supplied metal tool, I started by attaching it to one side of the rim and it will definitely be more playable even by hand but not such that you could get the whole thing on, I'm relatively strong and couldn't manage but the moment you use the supplied metal tool you'll see how flexible the tyre is now after the boiling it will stretch across the whole wheel width with not too much effort although effort is still needed. After hours of trying to do this with the tyre cold thinking this is a dudd purchase, reading all kinds of work around, such as place in a microwave, place in your oven etc etc I was on the cusp of returning this tyre but then read the full instructions again and this was my error not the tyres,I do feel ten minutes of boiling is not enough if you are not Hercules, please do fifteen minutes from cold with the tyre in the water and then a further solid ten minutes when the water is boiling hot so 25mims total and it will go on easy.I hope this helps someone who is thinking of returning it like I was,My view once I fitted the whole thing back to my Xiomi scooter was it's very good, my scooter felt brand new, the speeds I was reaching I had forgotten it could be that fast and honestly the difference between air and solid is not a noticeable difference to me as I also read people saying you feel every bump etc but I would disagree, at most it's like a 5% difference. And I know as my front wheel is still air and back is solid now, honestly this coming weekend I will be changing the front before this gets a picture and then no more worries about burst inner tubes.Ps remember which way to fit the tyre, at first I missed the direction, it was only on very closer inspection held up to the light I saw a tiny arrow on the tyre itself showing which way it fits to your metal rim.PPS - you will feel like Walter White for those 25 minutes ☺️RegardsMoe
5.0 out of 5 stars Buy motorcycle tyre irons and use this technique
Note: buy a set of motorcycle tyre irons, the one provided is not enough, you need at least 3.Very pleased with this, I bought it after being exasperated installing the regular tyre in how difficult it is since you have to be much more careful not to pinch the inner tube, which is what happened exactly after a 3 hour ordeal. Was wary of how difficult this would likely be but thought it was worth a shot, in the end, although the install wasn't easy, I found it much easier in general than the regular tyre install, but you need to use a specific technique.I boiled the tyre for 15 minutes, let it rest for 10, failed the first attempt, submerged it in boiling water again for a few minutes then tried again successfully. The technique is this:First off, get your 3 motorcycle tyre irons ready, use some dish soap around the rim of the tyre and the wheel and the ironsSit on a chair and place the tyre on the ground, make sure you have the direction the right way round. Push the bottom half of the wheel in as much as possible and then stand on the wheel to hold it in place. Get your tyre irons and start levering the tyre from the top half, the tyre is very pliable after boiling but it still isn't easy to get it over the rim. You need to use all three tyre irons to leverage the right, middle and left of the upper half, holding each one as you go. At this point it's stretching but it's not over the rim yet, to get it over you need to apply pressure with your feet to push the wheel in while you leverage with the irons, it should start to slip in but you can also really use some force with the irons to really pull the tyre up, at which point it snaps into place. It will probabably be uneven so just use the irons to poke into the rim where it's sitting too far in and lever it up to balance it out, super easy.Remember to use your feet to not only hold the wheel in place but push it in while you stretch the tyre with the irons. If you do this technique correctly it does go on pretty quickly. In terms of performance, it feels great, it's just as fast if not faster than before and the ride doesn't feel hard or bumpy to me so far, but I'm still using a air tyre on the front, when that one goes I'll definitely put the other one on.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent tyres
Easy to install, saves on inner tubes. Look great
4.0 out of 5 stars No more punctures 😜

5.0 out of 5 stars Electric scooter tire
Electric scooter tire. Nice use it easy to fix self.
5.0 out of 5 stars Ok so far
Got these to go on ok. Be sure to boil the tyres for 15-20 mins and use liquid soap everywhere, on the tyre, the rim and the tyre levers. I used 3 steel levers not sure how you can do this with just the one supplied lever. Tyre seems fine on the scooter, but much difference with the pneumatic ones.
5.0 out of 5 stars Will keep it updated
The wheel material is great in comparison to other solid tires, a bit rubbery but not too soft to lose the external pattern.I personally didn't go through the installation process, they say it's quite hard however I paid 15 pounds to a bike shop for the job.I have a wrist injury, so installing a suspension was a must after installing the tyre. however, this solid tyre with a suspension is worthy of every penny spent, especially after the number of punchers I have received, tried thick tubes and anti-puncher fluids spending more than 70 pounds on front-wheel punchers, solid tyres with monorim suspension were the best choice after all. don't waste your money on fixing air-filled tires. I use my scooter daily with 1300+ Kms till now.
3.0 out of 5 stars Was not an easy install
Boil it 25 mins and did the opposite on the instruction i put the tire on the floor instead.
Good compatible Xiaomi 3
