I was a bit sceptical because it only uses 180w of power (KitchenAid specialise in making low wattage motors which are somehow very powerful!) but I have made a few smoothies now with frozen and fresh fruit and have ended up with beautiful drinks each time with only a few strawberry seeds left at the bottom of the glass, which my old, enormous 1000 watt blender used to leave as well. Its really sturdy, easy to clean and the variable speed button is simple to use, even with arthritis. The jug which comes with it is quite small but just big enough to make smoothie for two people and I appreciate the lid that comes with it to store any extra in the fridge. This is one of those "it's expensive but worth it" items!

Yes these are a bit more than most on the market but you get what you pay for. Solid construction variable speed on the trigger and blends wonderfully well. When you use this you know it's been made well and will last.

This is another amazing kitchen aid product. Very strong and durable, use mine primarily for smoothie making and not had any issues.The blade is simple to clean and simple to use, my only reason for 4 stars not 5 is I wish the cable had a cable tie included like the hand mixer, it would make this easier to store when not in use.
