5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and Sturdy if Built Correctly

The key is that the two tabs must slot into the slots and right down flush into the second part of the slot. You guide the tab into the second part using a thin screwdriver.Banging them fully home makes for a strong locked joint. As all four corners are done the section becomes rigid.Start with the base with a space of one slot below and work upwards to the next shelf. There are two halves and concentrate on the lower one first. After fitting the small joints, the top half can be built up.Centre cross members have two tabs which need to be bent just over 90 degrees and as the tab comes out it can be bent over to hold the cross member firmly in place. Some reviewer's say the shelves are too thin but as they are well supported at all edges and across the centre this is irrelevant and I have stacked heavy machinery on it without any sag. The key is even distribution and putting heavy stuff on the bottom shelf, putting lighter stuff on higher shelves. The unit should be screwed firmly to a wall if safety is a concern and then the rigidity increases greatly. It says this in the instructions. In conclusion, a well designed unit IF ASSEMBLED CORRECTLY.Very happy and recommended.
4.0 out of 5 stars Took a little time to assembly but seem strong
As others have mentioned, they take a little time to assembly but once you get the knack of it, its pretty straight forward. Shelves seem strong enough to hold a decent amount of weight (upwards of 40kg tested). They are a little bit flimsy and could do with being secured to a wall or surrounding structure, but most shelving units share that requirement. Overall quite happy with the purchase, cheap, cheerful. No complaints.
5.0 out of 5 stars Garage storage
Quick delivery and well packaged. Great value and reasonably easy to put together. Seems sturdy enough for garage storage. Already reordered!
3.0 out of 5 stars You Get What You Pay For
You get what you pay for - an very easily assembled rack with 4mm thickness shelves and unpainted tin(?) legs, beams and struts measuring 0.5mm thick (yes measured at 1/2mm thick folded at the edges for strength). Once assembled it is (reasonably) structurally stable, but easily buckled if treated roughly and therefore in a garage environment used for tool kits, paint tins, assorted odds and ends etc, needs to be secured to the wall and in my case other racking; otherwise it would collapse or tip over in use.The shelving supplied WILL NOT LAST IN A DAMP ENVIROMENT and so I'll be using them for backing boards for pictures (or something) and replacing them with thicker treated MDF and at some point I'll paint the metal work such as it is. Is it worth the money? As it comes absolutory not unless you can anchor it to a wall, secure the sides and replace the shelves. However, I can see in use as a lightweight structure, for lightweight storage in a dry area it would do the job.Would I buy it again NO, do I recommend it NO, is it fit for purpose NO - not as advertised for a garage. Why did I keep it? Because I have bits laying around to replace the shelves and an old pot of Hammerite to paint it and it fits exactly between some existing racks - secured to the wall and other racks it will the job I need it to do hence 3 Stars.
5.0 out of 5 stars Value for money
This is an exceptionally good storage shelf for a garage, the side rails could be of a higher gauge but still does the job. The shelf was gleaming with the galvanisation and looked good. Unsure if it will hold the weight as advertised since I don’t have anything that heavy. Will definitely buy more if I have the need. Assembly was no fuss too, the middle bar supporting the mdf sheet is a bit difficult to keep in place but once the weight was placed on the shelf it seemed to stay. For the price its great value!
1.0 out of 5 stars Awful to put together
Ok shelves for the price but not for anything too heavy. TERRIBLE to put together with awful instructions. In my opinion, spend a bit more money and get something a bit more decent. Literally slots together but in the worst way.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the garage
Exactly what we needed for our garage! Slightly tricky to assemble, and I’ve ended up with a cut finger because I ignored the instruction to wear gloves……“Heavy duty” is stretching it a bit, but they’re great for the money
4.0 out of 5 stars Good for Medium Loads, I Wouldn't Call It Heavy Duty Though
I wouldn't call it heavy duty by any means, but does the job well for medium loads. Assembly is easy and all you need is rubber mallet. No missing parts, there is leaflet with assembly instructions. As I mentioned - not heavy duty (at least not with the provided shelves/shelf forms). Sturdy on its own, but could benefit from fixing to the wall to prevent tipover.
