Review:
5.0 out of 5 stars Totally worth it for its price
One thing I’ve noticed (and I think this is pretty common with noise-cancelling headphones in general), there’s a faint background hiss or ventilation-type noise when using ANC in a really quiet environment. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of if you're expecting total silence. Furthermore, it's weird that we have a NC button on the left that basically does the same thing as the touch control on the right, both just switch between noise-cancellation, normal and transparency mode. Why have both for the same thing? It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, though many newer phones don’t support it anymore for years now, so not everybody can benefit from it like me.Some reviews I saw said the build feels cheap, but honestly, I disagree. I think people might be comparing it to way more expensive brands or have higher expectations that what the product can promise. On its own terms, the Q30 feels solid and comfortable. The ear cups are soft and fit well, and I can wear them for hours without discomfort. The sound is great, especially if you enjoy a bit of extra bass, which is awesome for music with deep low-end. As for the noise cancellation, I personally just stick with transport mode most of the time, it somehow feels more effective or balanced than the others, at least to my ears. The others work too, but there’s just something about transport mode that feels better.Im overall very satisfied with it, would definitely recommend it for those who don't want to spend hundreds.
5.0 out of 5 stars Noise-Cancelling Headphones
These headphones are great! They look nice and feel sturdy, but they’re still lightweight enough that I can wear them for hours without my ears hurting. Connecting with Bluetooth was super easy, and the buttons are simple to figure out (volume control etc). The sound is clear at any volume, and the noise cancelling was a lifesaver on my flight... it blocked out almost all the engine noise so I could just relax and enjoy music and films. Totally worth it!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, some frustrations though.
THE GOOD:* Sound: For casual use, the sound is great. They're not designed for accuracy, so if you're making music there are better options for that, but for listening on the go or watching Netflix etc, they are superb.* Battery life: The battery life is astounding. It's not unusual for me to use these for 4-10 hours a day for various reasons, but I only have to charge it every 10 days or so. Really impressed.* Comfort: They are exceptionally comfortable.THE BAD:* Off button: Aaarrrgh, this is unbelievable. They turn on very easily, but for some bizarre reason it often takes two or three attempts of holding down the power button with no response before they finally turn themselves off. I haven't worked out the reason.* Touch control: This isn't really Bad as much as it is frustrating. At first, this is awesome, particularly when out walking. If you need to be more aware of your surroundings, touch the right pad and you're in transparency mode. Another touch and you're back into noise cancellation mode. This is the gimmick I was telling people about when I first got them. It's awesome. Cut to months down the line and any action you do that touches or brushes the pad will cut the sound off entirely so the headphone announcer can say "transparency". This happens when laying in bed, stretching or working certain routines at the gym, reaching for something, etc. I probably accidentally activate it more often than doing it on purpose these days, and each time it interrupts my music, podcast or show which can be very frustrating.THE UGLY:* Ear pads: the quality is really lacking here. I've just ordered some replacement ear pads having not realised until yesterday that that's even a thing. I was just living with it. Within four or five months, the pads split (plenty of photos have been posted about this), exposing the off white foam beneath which looks awful. Hopefully the replacements will last. Without the replacement, this review would have been a solid 3 stars.SUMMARYBasically great headphones. For the price they're especially good. My nitpicks are mostly just that and won't affect a lot of users, so I'd say go for it. Just expect to replace the ear pads before long.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great value very good sound
First near HiFi wireless Headphones for me, they do sound good powered from my phone via Bluetooth. The noise cancelling work wells, some say you can get better. I wore these on the Piccadilly underground in London just to protect my ears from the squeeling noise, it worked well even without music or a podcast playing. The handy app on the phone is good also. BTRange is good battery life very good. Now the downside, as most new electronic gadgets have small buttons to switch on/off, find press and hold ........ Hold keep holding off or on, why can't we have a switch instead of a press and hold button?I find the ear muffs a bit too small. The head band does flop about a bit and can move. Not too heavyI don't like the button press sounds, bit annoying.Music is very good sound quality, I like that, bass maybe not too deep, I can hear the depth of the music, like I said near very good hifi sound.Buy them if you walk around in public and enjoy your music to a high quality with good noise cancelling. The best part is the price really good value. Now who wants mega expensive headphones whilst out and about in dodgy areas that they could be easily snatched and nicked?Phone calls are very good, no one has complained yet, so good for chatting.Buy them, look out for Bolo special offers, or maybe buy two.ThenSave your money on these to buy some really expensive wired hifi ones for late night listening at home through a decent amp, forget MP3, listen to CD or hi res streamed music. These work really well you won't be disappointed.
Good headphones
So far, the headphones are good. Good sound quality and building materials. ANC works as expected
Amazing for the price
UNBOXING / PRODUCT - 9/10Opening the box, I was impressed with packaging and initial impressions of quality. Headphones felt solid and of good quality materials. Connecting to a new device is very straightforward (press and hold power button for +3 seconds). Controls on the sides of the headphones make it easy to adjust volume quickly, as well as noise cancellation functionality. There is a nice touch where if you press and hold on the logo on the right-side headphone it will go into 'transparency' mode, which brings outside noise into the headphones. This is helpful if you're in noise cancellation mode and a coworker stops by to chat, you can quickly and easily duck in and out of noise cancellation. The headphones fold for travel. The kit includes a USB-C charging cable, aux cord and carrying case.SOUND QUALITY - 9/10So far the soundstage is broad, with clear highs and deep bass. Excellent!COMFORT - 10/10Ear pads are extremely soft, which makes them easy to wear for long periods. Adjustable band for different head sizes. Excellent comfort.NOISE CANCELLATION - 7/10This is the main reason I bought the Anker Soundcore Q30 headphones. I live in a townhouse and my neighbour with a shared wall has dogs that bark during the day - I needed a way to focus while working from home. While the NC does not completely eliminate the noise, it does reduce it significantly - I would say 60-70% reduction. I considered whether or not to just purchase construction-style noise blocking over the ear headphones, which promise up to a -38dB reduction, but they are often designed for extreme environments and would not be comfortable for a long period of time. If complete elimination of noise is required, you could purchase a more expensive pair of Bose Ultimate headphones. Or, use a pair of foam earplugs with these overtop and play white noise or music through the headphones with NC turned on.If you go to rtings.com, you can objectively compare the noise cancellation performance of these Q30's with premium Bose and Sony headphones. Surprisingly, the performance is closer than you might expect for the price gap. Yes, the Bose in particular blocks more sound, especially in the higher frequencies. But the Q30's are still some of the best performing noise cancelling headphones for the < $100 market.Within the app, you can choose from 3 noise cancelling 'modes'. These are not available unless you download the app, and customize the frequencies that are targeted by the NC.1) Transport: Targets low-end frequencies like engine and road noise (default mode)2) Indoor: Eliminates voices and mid-frequency noise (this is my preferred mode)3) Outdoor: Reduces ambient sound on-the-goIts worth noting that because these are large, over-the-ear headphones, just putting them on will cut some of the noise. Even before you start playing any music, you can just put these on your head and instantly cut like -20 dB or more from the ambient sound. You can also activate NC without playing sound, so if you want to just cut the noise, you can do that.BATTERY LIFEI'm still waiting to kill this battery. It lasts for days of casual use. I'm not sure if it will actually last for the claimed 40 hours, especially when using NC, but its certainly better than my wireless buds.VALUE / CONCLUSIONBuyers looking for good quality NC headphones on a budget will be very pleased. Sure, a set of Bose or Sony headphones will outperform in ultimate noise cancellation and sound quality, but for the price these Soundcore Q30's are a great buy.
Perfectos
Anker has impressed me once again
Being a devoted fan of Anker products, I've been a satisfied user of the Soundcore Life Dot 2 for the past three years. These earbuds have proven their durability, maintaining excellent condition over time. The remarkable battery backup of 8 hours, coupled with the convenience of the charging case extending it to a week, has contributed to their longevity in my daily use.As someone who values Anker's reliability, the decision to upgrade was driven by the desire for noise-canceling features. While the Soundcore Life Dot 2 served me exceptionally well, the enhanced functionality offered by the newer model with noise cancelation was a compelling reason to make the switch. The brand's consistency in quality and innovation has certainly earned my continued loyalty.I've been enjoying these headphones for the past 2 days during various activities such as walks, movie sessions, and extended music listening, and I must say they've exceeded my expectations. As a self-proclaimed bass head, I can attest that the low-end response is impressive. However, for those seeking a balanced sound, the initial experience might not be as appealing, but the Soundcore app provides a solution with its customizable equalizer. The build quality leans towards plastic, but given the price point, it's well-designed. The ear cups are remarkably soft with good cushioning, providing a comfortable fit. The headrest follows suit, enhancing the overall comfort during extended usage. The active noise cancellation (ANC) is truly noteworthy, giving a tough competition even to premium options like the AirPods Pro. One minor drawback is the transparency mode, which tends to amplify external sounds in windy or crowded environments, sometimes making conversations and wind noise more prominent. Extended use may lead to slightly warm ears, but it's manageable. On the positive side, the Bolo delivery experience was commendable—swift and smooth. The fact that the product came directly from the original supplier adds a layer of trustworthiness. However, I must express dissatisfaction with the delivery personnel who left the parcel unattended outside my door. This could pose a security risk and is an aspect that needs improvement in the overall delivery service.
