I would not recommend the 4 inch clamps for anything larger than 30mm. While they open wider. I've had a couple smash in to bits just clamping fabric to 35mm timber. Also, the pads fall off every other time so maybe consider something better if you're going to be moving them around a lot. Not good quality but decent strength and cheap.

Very useful for small projects, difference that “extra” pair of hands make, just right size and quality for simple working tasks, yes would recommend.

Pretty standard for these clamps but the ones bought about 20 years are beginning to die so I have to repopulate. This is an excellent way to do so.

I have had a supply of these for some years and found them very useful for all sorts of tasks when something needed to be held or clipped, when gluing or repairing something. Having run out I ordered some more.There is not a lot of information on the actual size - the 2 or 3 inch refers to the length. The 2inch opens to just under 1inch wide and will clip onto a pole of about 3/4 inch. The 3inch opens to about 11/4 inch wide and will clip onto a pole of about 1 inch
