I lightly washed and seasoned 1 time before using. I have never had any sticking issues and I have had now for 6 months, making waffles a few times a week. I wipe off and store in my oven. A better choice, than the toxic enamel electric ones.

Started swapping all my pans for cast iron and there’s a small learning curve about how to use at the right temp and seasoning and I knew the bad reviews where from people not knowing how to use correctly. Seasoned it and made some lovely bacon and waffles and did not stick for me on electric hob mark 4-5 worked best. Worth getting as you can flip it for even cooking but please leave how to use cast iron to avoid sticking! Also recommend some chain mail for cleaning, unlike Teflon non stick waffle irons you can really get in there to scrub any bits out where you rush scratching on on stick! Great product only problem is now I’m going to get fatter

My old electric waffle maker packed in so looking to replace it with something simple that didn't have electronic components, plastics, Teflon etc. cast iron seemed the perfect choice. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. The information with this pan declared that, due to being pre-seasoned, it could be used right away. I added a layer of oil, wiped that off to get rid of any dust, added a little more oil to coat the cooking surface, preheated both sides & added the waffle batter using the same recipe I used for the electric one. Turned the pan over after a few minutes but the underside of the waffle did not appear to be cooking at all. I attempted to prise it off the top pan to allow for better contact with the bottom one but it was stuck. It then took quite a bit of effort to remove it. I cleaned the pan, oiled it & tried again but the second attempt stuck too. I've been using cast iron pans for years and I know how to use, clean, season etc. but this one just didn't want to play ball. Disappointing.

The waffles come out easily and lovely and crispy.Make sure you grease it before each waffle (I just rub butter over it). My first one stuck to it as I didn't grease it, but every one since had been great. I've used it several times.Give it a gentle wash and a season first. Warm each half separately (on different rings) before cooking the first one. Then flip the whole pan during cooking to reheat the top (now bottom!) again. As it's cast iron, the handles get hot, so use a towel or 2 pan handle covers.

Plates were not non-stick. Have seasoned them again but have not used yet.

It is a solidly cast iron setof waffle pans. The initial seasoning left a lot to be desired, but this is to be expected as factory seasoning is universally bunk no matter where you get the pans. I used the waffle recipe from allrecipes.com and it worked well. Oiling the pan is required for each waffle. I used a spritzer to put a small spritz and spread it about with a silicone pastry brush and it was good. THere is a little slack between the pans when flipping, but nothing too bad. Overall made a succesful batch of waffles and the seasoning should improve with use.

This item arrived as expected. Heavy waffle pan which I have not yet used, but quality looks good and I do have other cast iron pans which I love, looking forward to making waffles for the grandkids ++++

I scrubbed then seasoned the waffle maker in oven using lard instead of oil as per instructions leaflet and have had no sticking to the pan Getting the correct amount of heat under the pan was the tricky part when making the waffles, too much and they’re too brown and a little dry but not enough and they take ages and the lifting up of the pan doesn’t give good waffles but once I found where I needed to put the hob dial, after only three or four attempts, perfect The waffle maker arrived quickly, well packaged with instructions Would recommend as this works well, could be taken on camping trips and there’s no non stick coating on it that can’t be fixed
