Easy to use and most importantly very ease to clean as the inner plates are removable. Will only toast two servings at a time so ideal for a couple rather than for a family. So all things considered, price, usability and results, definitely worth the money

Was looking for a toastie maker for occasional use and initially bought the slater one at a very cheap price ,first thoughts was it seem ok but it took to long to toast the sandwich ,but the biggest problem was the plates were to big for any bread and would only crimp across the middle of the bread ,even useing Warbertons. Looked at the Breville but it was twice the price , but saw it on offer and thanks to Bolos fantastic customer service managed to swop it for this one( just paid the difference). The breville is so much better made,and quite heavey, the Warberton medium fits perrfectly crimping all 3 parts of the toastie, also it only took 5 mins fron shuting the lid to produce a lovely crusty toastie, The added advantage of removeable plates is an added bonus.

Good toasties, seals well with usually not much leaking (keep filling away from edges). Not the deepest fill, and some bread slices are best cut to square for better fit. Easy to clean removable plates; can go in dishwasher, though that probably shorten the life of the non-stick coating. Ease of cleaning is big advantage over models with non-removable plates, I thought it worth extra cost.

This is the crème de las crème of sandwich toasters. The original and best. Deep fill. The black one has removable plates so you can slot in the waffle plates (available an extra). This is my third over about 30 years. No fault of the machine - one had a cupboard drop on it ! It’s a classic, perfect sandwich maker!

I purchased this over. A year ago and totally forgot to write a review.Does the job well. Been using it heavily over the last year and even though it's looking a little used it works well.Only issues I have is that the toastie bread I use is slightly bigger than the plates in the machine and you can't fit a lot of filling in if you like things like beans, cheese, ham etc.Things like jam, chocolate etc are fine.Certainly worth the money!

For a relatively inexpensive gadget this sandwich toaster is a gem. It's well made and it does precisely what is written on the tin. We use ours every day for one type of sandwich or another. It's simple to use, warms up quickly, and produces sealed, well toasted sandwiches every time. It does not have a timer so best to use with something like the oven timer.My only complaint would be the clip that secures the handle. I can see why they made it that way but you do have to be careful not to catch your fingers as it closes.

-Summary-The unit feels solid and the removable plate mechanism works well making the *plates* easy to clean.It makes toasties quite well but overall I wish I'd either spent less and had fixed plates or more and had deeper or multifunction plates.As for the downsides...Overflow still ends up on the work surface but also under the plates - and even though it's meant to be 'deep-fill' it really doesn't take as much filling as you might hope. The bread needs to be a very specific size and shape with little space between the two cooking areas and it's still difficult to close.Cleaning under the plates is more awkward than cleaning the fixed plates on my old one with none of the benefit of higher, more direct heat.How the design of these hasn't really improved over the years boggles the mind - couldn't there be a channel to catch, more space between plates, a hinged level to close like a panini press etc :)

It doesn't even fit a normal sized slice of bread in it. And even with minimal fillings it overflows and is super hard to clean up.On top of all this it supports out the power to the house when we try to use it.

Bought in Australia but doesn't have an Australian plug

Wrong plug! I bought it in Australia, there was no mention of the wrong plug. It's useless to me.
