I live in Somerset, so the water here is a little softer than some parts of the country, but this soap foams up really quickly & keeps on foaming. I use a synthetic brush to lather up in a bowl then apply to face & the lather builds. Lather lasts for the length of my shave & the lather in the bowl is still good for another 2 passes. I've attached some photos to prove this is good stuff, apologies for the face shot. A couple of things which helped me: firstly, I squashed the bar into a round container with a lid (easier to do when it's been used a couple of times as it gets softer & malleable), this is great for storage & use; secondly, you can put a little surface warm water on it in the container (less than 1mm) to warm it up. This really helps the transfer onto the brush, ready for lathering in the bowl. However, use the soapy water in the pot as a pre-shave before swirling the brush as otherwise it'll be too wet. Make sure your brush is wet with warm water but squeeze out the excess water. You don't need a lot of soap, 5 or 6 sweeps round is suffice. Lather up in a bowl for 20 seconds & apply. (You can apply straight to your face but splashes a little until the lather builds up). Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know but a few reviewers have been disappointed & I wonder if they just haven't done things right or persevered. I'm not vegan so have also tried the revered Mitchells' Wool Fat soap & this compares very favourably to it. The MWF has slightly more cushioning & lighter scent. The Eco W soap has a stronger scent, which is very pleasant, & lathers more. Both give a very enjoyable shave & I alternate between the two when I shave as they're both very good. This soap lasts a long time too, as does the MWF - been using both for 9 months now & hardly depleted the soaps at all. This may have a cheap price buts punches way above that. Give it a go & be as eco as you can without compromise.

I have keratosis pilaris (KP) and sensitive, dry skin. This shave bar works wonderfully and giving my razor (manual and electric) a smooth glide surface which reduces nicks and cuts.The bar foams up well with my hands but I imagined it work great with a shaving brush also.It smells really nice and a little goes a long way.

I like a traditional wet shave, but I don't like those aersol cans of foam so I thought I'd try this.It's way cheaper than a lot of shaving soaps I've seen and it is good value for money.The fragrance is very, very subtle. I don't mind that to be honest since I want it for shaving, not as an aftershave. But I do wonder how much fragrancing they actually put in here.The other thing - and the reason why I've put 4 stars - is that it doesn't lather quite as thick as the more expensive soaps I've had in the past. I still get a decent shave, but I find I'm having to keep relathering. Not a massive problem, but something to be aware of.For the money I think it's great value and I'll probably continue using this (or one of the other variants they do). I do wish it lathered a little thicker, but I'm not really sure whether that would give me a better shave anyway.Merging value for money with the performance I'd probably say 4.5 stars. The packaging is minimal, I'm pleased to say and it's a free of some of those nasty chemicals that you find in almost every other cleansing product of any kind these days. All plus points.

First time used this and skin is soft and nick free on legs and armpits. Much more effective than shaving creams or creams like veet and much better for me and the planet! No real smell I could detect but feel fresh and clean! 😀 I have sensitive skin and this is good!

The soap lasts a really long time, smells greats, lathers easily and does the job. The only downside is that after staying for a few seconds on the skin it starts stinging really badly and irritates my skin. For reference my skin is not sensitive.

I only used this twice before throwing it away, it seems OK at first sight but when used it doesn't lather up properly it's more like really light suds and because of that it dried on my face before I was halfway through shaving, which meant using the shaving brush three times for one shave.

Santa brought us each a different product plus the eco warrior soap carrier.I opened soap dish so shave bar was in the base of the holder. I have a shaving brush I bought for little money somewhere on here....BACK IN 2025 to buy next one... Has lasted me years!I prepared my face with a hot, wet flannel then dipped my brush into the warm water. I circled brush round the soap a few times to lather it up then splodges it onto my hairy girl face.I was glad as the lathering worked great and the places I wanted to shave went white.I was able to glide my Mach 3 along my face really smoothly and the stubbly mess went back to soft and smooth again.Face did not feel taught... Neither was it oikey and gunky...Yeah, I fell like this.Smell is nice.£3 a bar was cheaper than the £4 it was available for on the Eco Warrior website. Arrived very quickly.Excellent!
