This is perfect for what it is made for. It offers a serious amount of protection for your shoulders. Probably couldn't get more protection without playing American Football.The padding is approximately 10mm thick and is fairly firm foam. If you press it hard with your fingers it takes a lot of pressure. But reforms instantly. I'd describe it as the same material as a good quality camping roll mat. Now there are four armoured plates on each shoulder. They are held in place really well in mesh netting. These plates are non removable. They will do a good job of protecting your shoulders from impact. It will do well at absorbing a fair amount of shock.There is a slimline chest plate that offers a bit of protection. This one is removable which is ideal as it will get sweaty. It's fine to give this a wipe clean.The logo has been designed well due to it being perforated, it enables that little bit extra air circulation. The motif itself is is transfer type but it looks hard wearing.There is a fair bit of stitching on this shirt. It fits tight, skin tight so needs to have strong stitching. Its machine stitched to a massively high standard. I think it is a kind of honeycomb stitch or double (and some places triple) ladder stitch. Either way it is some serious stitching which looks strong and reliable. It will take some serious abuse kn the field.The material of the top itself is ultra stretchy. It's super smooth too. It feels great on. It is a wicking material. The weather is too cold at the moment for me to work up a proper sweat to give it a fair test. However, I have owned lots of wicking t shirts. Stuff I have bought myself and stuff my old work had provided as part of my uniform. So I k ow the difference between quality wicking garments and cheap nasty ones. This is clearly a quality fabric.Washing this particular garment is a slight pain. It requires a cold hand wash. And to dry is fairly difficult at the moment. Its certainly not suitable for tumble dryers. It says dry away from direct heat so I haven't hung it over the radiator. So I hung it over the clothes horse in the conservatory. It takes a while obviously because of the cold weather. Warmer seasons wont be an issue though.In terms of design it looks great. I personally don't like the longer sleeves. They cover most of my bicep. I love the colours and the Canterbury logo and Vapodri motif. I love the angled detailing of the stitching. It exaggerates your chest and size.It comes well wrapped.

bought this for my 14 year old and fit and comfort is great, the only down side is when you wash it dont tumble dry and be carefull of the sponge pads as they crumple up a bit.

Really great quality vapour raze vest by the well known Canterbury company.The vest claims to be quick drying and wicks moisture and boosts evaporation of sweat.It's lovely quality material and is finished nicely with the material having a little stretch. All seams and edges are well finished so should be hard wearing and durable. The best has padded shoulders and a padded chest piece with the Canterbury logo in the chest.Really comfortable fit with the added stretch panels under the armpitsAn excellent piece of kit!

OK, I hadn't realized that this was a super-padded undershirt. When I put it on my son went wide-eyed with amazement at how huge it made me look (the title was a direct quote from him. He's 15....). But the shirt is very comfortable and breathable and I would assume the pads make rough tackles just a little less painful...

This is a good quality vest, with added protection around the shoulders. If you play rugby, or are a rhino, this would be a good top for you.

Very comfortable with good padding. Acts well as a under layer for warmth. Sizing is good.
