5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for making concrete blocks black again, works perfect

Look great but they do have to be sealed to maintain the colour.

4.0 out of 5 stars A handy 'stain' if used correctly.

I used this on slate slip tiles that were too light. But...be warned!I tested a few variations to get what worked for me.1: Neat - 2 coats: Will turn your slate matt black. Like, chalkboard black. This would be cool for some but it just looked like the tiles were painted black and sucked all of the character away. No sign of black rub-off that been reported. You must let it dry. Maybe seal afterwards with LTP solvent sealer?2: Neat - 1 coat: Similar to above but allowed some of the character through. Still way too black for this project.3: *WINNER* Watered down - 1 part Blackstone to 4 parts water - followed by 2 coats of colour intensifier solvent sealer: This got me to where I wanted to be. The first coat of watered-down Blackstone took the pale and white parts of the slate away. Also went into the factory (and my) cuts, which are always hard to darken. The above (3) gave me a slightly darker grey which, when followed by 1-2 coats of LTP solvent colour intensifier, got me to a deep dark colour that still looks completely natural. If used neat it shouldn't give black rub-off (like reported), if left to dry. But if it does just seal it with a solvent sealer.I might be wrong...but I'd think of this Blackstone as a stain rather than a sealer. Water down to get your desired tone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product on black limestone

    A.C. · 1 June 2021

Used this product to darken and condition a black, limestone fireplace hearth with a roughened surface. Poured into a small paint tray and applied with a foam mini roller on the flats/ brush on the edges. The project took 5 coats in total but could have got away with 3. Allowed plenty of time to dry between coats. The sealer dried beautifully to a matt, coal black finish. Some residue left after drying which can be carefully wipped off with a semi damp cloth. Applied a No Nonsense Screwfix Sealer to lock colour in as a final coat. Very satisfied with the end result. Easy to use. Consistency of water - so use carefully with protection underneath.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product

I don't normally leave a review on stuff but this deserved the time . Fed of my slate patio looking white and looked for something for years tried a number of different oils and other colour inhancers etc to be disappointed. This is abit like a paint but after letting seal for 24hrs then washing it down and sweeping it with a stiff broom lightly product is brillant . No more tired slate white tiles . And as others mentioned about the black residue it does go after its cleaned .FANTASTIC . little bit pricey for 1ltr bottle at £39.99 but it's good.personally £25 would be a suitable price . Thankyou would probably order again .

3.0 out of 5 stars READ the LABEL

    A.C. · 1 November 2022

I previously wrote that this product was awful. However I have to tell you all that it was MY mistake!Having contacted the manufacturers (LTP) to complain, it was pointed out to me very nicely that this product was for EXTERNAL use and not for internal use! The moral of this story is READ the LABEL thoroughly before use. LTP are advising me now how to rectify the mistake to which I am very grateful.

It brought the colour back to my black composite granite sink. Left overnight to absorb, wiped off any excess in the morning and applied mineral oil. Came up like new.

1.0 out of 5 stars *DOES NOT* Seem to work on granite composite sinks ... Maybe

    A.C. · 20 March 2021

Bought this to try and rejuvenate a black granite composite sink which was less than 3 years old but had faded horrifically and the manufacturers wouldn't honour the warranty. I was a little unsure it would be baby use at all but early results are promising, the it's difficult to get the finish perfect as I had to do the whole sink after only doing the faded area it looked very obvious it had been done. It seems to run down the sides giving slight streaking but you can buff it gently after 4 hours to even out the finish a litteIt's too early to comment on the final effect as it's still within its 24 hour curing process and obviously I have no idea if it will last.... But if it does it's saved me several hundred pounds having to have the sink replaced. It's by no means a perfect finish but it certainly looks much better than it did... Here's to hoping it holds out*EDIT*AFTER LEAVING PRODUCT 48 HOURS TO CURE (DOUBLE THE RECOMMEND TIME... IT HAS SIMPLY WASHED OFF WHEN WIPED DOWN WITH A DAMP CLOTH! ABSOLUTELY USELESS IN THIS INSTANCE, MAY WORK ON OTHER TYPES OF STONE BUT NOT HERE! WASTE OF MONEY)

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says !!

Very messy and unforgiving if you don’t apply it carefully that said it does a great job, I blacked all my edging bricks around my patio and it looks brand new, I know it’s expensive but it does go a long way and seals the brick / stone perfectly
