This is supposed to reduce limescale (I live in a hard water area) but I don't know how well it's working. My bean-to-cup coffee machine still asks for descaling periodically, I think this is governed by time and intensity of use rather than any measure of scale build up. Coffee doesn't taste any different to me. Hopefully the softballs will make the machine last longer but even that will be difficult to confirm.

Hard to know if they do a great job of not ,put them in the water tank and hope it does what it says on the packet ! Coffee machine is running ok so slow good.

So far not much difference with residue in cups after several days of use even with filtered water also. Time will tell I guess but I live however in a very hard water area.
