About this item:
Ferritin levels are a great and easy way to screen for iron deficiency and low iron levels associated with iron deficient anaemia. Low levels of Ferritin have been associated with reduced fertility. The common cause is heavy periods. Iron levels also come under strain during pregnancy, where early detection can prevent anaemia developing. Other causes of low Ferritin include hypothyroid states, bowel disorders including inflammatory bowel disease and ascorbic acid disorders. The symptoms of low iron levels in early stages are insidious and non specific, often including malaise, lethargy, tiredness, onset is usually so gradual as not to trigger awareness. This test is suitable for general screening and should be considered especially by women with vegan or vegetarian or other restricted diets, a history of heavy periods and before and during pregnancy and breast feeding. Men with a history of blood loss or anaemia and other blood conditions should also consider the test.

I knew she was anemic but tell that to someone who thinks they know better. Yep , it came back abnormal ( low in iron ) . Doctors appointment booked , increasing her iron consumption in the meantime ( eggs , spinach etc ) and one happy mum who resisted saying ‘ I told you so ‘ . For a fiver , worth it .
5.0 out of 5 stars Very accurate test.
I am on anti epileptic drugs and can cause anemia. How iron deficiency. Going to see my GP this week to make sure as I have been feeling very tired lately !.. brittle nails. Pale inside my eyelids. Pale skin. You can't go wrong with this test. As I have been anaemic in the past. This test is accurate. Simple instructions to read. No problem with this product.
4.0 out of 5 stars Useful
Relatively easy to use. I have come back twice now with abnormal levels and so decided to consult doctor. I have blood tests booked with the nurse, so will know for definite in September (1st available appointment for bloods) how accurate this test is
1.0 out of 5 stars No response.
I followed the instructions to the letter and even watched a YouTube tutorial a few times first. Drew blood in pipette using capillary action ( don’t squeeze as stated ) and left a sizeable droplet in trough. Added drop of solution and waited.......... Nothing , diddly , no show , zilch !Absolutely no response or reading given. What a waist of time and money.

Does the job!
3.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate
Has my ferritin checked. It was very low but haemoglobin ok. That was a week ago and the symptoms are awful. Ordered this just for curiosity to see if they work for future but line showed to signal fine. Doesn't correlate with blood test showing ferritin 15. Inaccurate.
5.0 out of 5 stars Know the facts
There are a lot of people reviewing this product saying they went to the Doctor and their iron is fine.Firstly anaemia is diagnosed by your haemoglobin reading, not your ferritinFerritin is an iron store and a "normal" reading is 20-300 in the UK.I took this test and it showed I was deficient so went to the Doctor who got back to me to say it was normal. Has my results emailed to me and my Ferritin is 32. It may be in the normal range but only just and this is far from normal. Please do your research before giving bad reviews.I am now on an iron protocol to increase my ferritin stores and periodically using these tests to check where I am at. Once I get a normal reading I'll have my blood tested again at the GP.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great test
This iron deficiency is really good to help to see if you are lacking iron in your diet at home, it is a good idea to see your Doctor if it is low better to have it checked out.
