Not silly, pointless junk like so many toys out there. Simple for kids to click the sections together to make circuits, by just laying the clear board over the top of each drawing in the manual, then clicking on the parts marked ‘1’, then the ‘2’s, then ‘3’s. Easy. Needs adult supervision at first as the manual is not aimed at kids like eg Lego ones are and could be clearer even for grownups, but you get the idea soon enough. Ideal for my 7 year old daughter who likes tinkering with electronics after seeing her brother doing the same. She wanted her own stuff, not to always be begging to borrow his, ha ha. I like the way the parts and circuit diagrams show the real symbol for a switch, bulb, etc. Good foundation to give confidence, achieve results quickly and teach the basic principles, that she can then apply to using her real wires and electrical components we buy from Maplin, which tend to be more frustrating for little ones. So good I bought my 7 yr old niece this set too. Not sure how far they’ll get through the manual at this age, but can just do the first couple of pages and then safe experimenting to make up their own inventions for now. Box it comes in is good for storage too, parts all click back neatly into moulded plastic recesses. Thanks.

My son and daughter (6 and 8) have loved working on different creations with this set. We've had a flying fan, lights, radio, doorbell. With various ways of turning them on and off, sound, switch, push button, water and light. They've found it really enjoyable and fascinating. They were so engrossed this afternoon that they forgot about TV entirely, a great result. I was really surprised at how well the radio worked. The fan is a really good way of showing how by reversing the circuit and having the motor effectively in reverse you can go from a basic fan to making the fan blades take off like a helicopter. An excellent and educational toy.

The concept of this item is great - and this was one of the cheapest i saw. The manual has lots of pages with different ways of connecting all the pieces together, with diagrams to go with them which made it easy for my son to read and set them up himself. The LED light and the water-sensor parts didn't work though. I couldn't be bothered to send them back or ask for replacement. Would be great if you could order spare parts...

I initially purchased the smaller EZLink set, but was disappointed by the small set of parts, so purchased this set instead, providing much better interest and value for money. A suggestion to prompt more creative electronic assemblies, would be to provide examples of how these components can be combined with other play objects, in order demonstrate its full potential. For example, Introducing a piece of green card to conceal the linking bars in order to create a helipad scoring game or wind farm, or grey card for a simple townscape with lights and a radio station etc. This could appeal to both genders.

The kit is quite comprehensive and well made for the price and all components worked exactly as they do any instructions. Instruction book gives you plenty of combinations of how to use the parts and it is of such a voltage that if your child gets things wrong draw creates a short and it’s not going to damage anything at all. Absolutely brilliant and a throwback to more additional toys that I did not think I would see my son take to so readily

Nice kit to learn basic electronics. Unfortunately the yellow rotor is made of brittle plastic and got broken on second time used. My boy got really upset as it was really entertaining. Other than that the set is fine

I got this for my 7 year old niece who had shown an interest in her electricity lessons in school. As soon as she opened the box and started to work through the easy to create circuits her interest grew. The components are well made and connected together without the need for tools. The accompanying instruction manual was well written and easy for her (and adults) to understand. Overall, an excellent well priced product. I am now looking for a similar product to take her to the next level.

Bought this for a younger relative who is doing some engineering work at school. Its a great introductory kit with plenty of easy to follow designs. Lots of different circuits including lights, sounds fans etc. Highly recommend for anyone new to this kind of thing.
