Then in walked this balm...I bought it just to see what it was like and so far I’m pretty darn impressed. It’s presented well in its little tin and on first impression comes across a bit like lard! However, once in the palm of your hands it melt like butter, making application smooth and comfortable.Once applied it helped calm down my beards wild side - I wouldn’t say completely but I’d have to apply mortar in order to do that anyway! The scent is really nice and fragrant too, not too overwhelming yet not too subtle either.It’s only been a week or so since I’ve started using it but I’d definitely say it’s helped improve my face fuzz and it’s certainly made my grooming regime a lot more enjoyable and less of a chore!*UPDATE*I've been using this for a while now and I can't really imagine using anything else if I'm honest. You can use it to suit your needs - if you're going out casually just use a bit to tame your beard slightly but still give it that edge, or for more formal occasions/work use a little more to keep it looking great and groomed all day. I'm not a massive beard fanatic - I have one and that's about it, I don't feel the need to have a designer or fashionable beard, as everyone else has one anyway, but I still see this product as essential to keep it looking presentable and of course aid with the care of my skin and hair.

Being new to the beard growing world I’ve been relying on the internet and friends recommendations for care and maintenance.I don’t have a really full beard so it took me a good 6 weeks to get something I was happy with. Unfortunately some of the beard hairs stick out at odd angles giving me a fairly scruffy look, which I don’t want. I ordered some beard wax but its far too stiff to work with and I couldn’t get it to apply properly, after a conversation with a friend he suggested a beard Balm.I jumped onto Bolo, it’s my default shop these days and ordered this Beard Balm.Firstly, it comes in a much bigger size than the wax which was as expensive for less. Secondly, its much easier to apply than the wax. The instructions say to apply to hand to warm but I just start massaging into the beard. You need to use it a few times to decide how much you need to put on. The first time I added too much then not enough, after two weeks of use I’m getting good at applying it every day. I wash my beard with shampoo about once a week, most days I only rinse in the shower with water and then apply the balm.This balm is really easy to work with and leaves my beard smelling nice and looking great, even the Wife has commented on how much better it looks. I’m able to grow it much longer without it looking scruffy and the beard looks a lot fuller, and loads softer.A really great product.

Bought this product, and received the following day, with no issues on delivery.Had previously been utilising beard oil, and was getting frustrated in the transfer of oil through the day to the likes of my smartphone, laptop keyboard, etc..Happy with this product, and does what it says on the tin - beard feels soft and have eliminated the transfer experienced with oil.Butter melts at the touch and applies easily.Nice smell that is not overpowering.Not overly expensive, but there are cheaper products out there with similar reviews, however I have not tried them so can't confirm the differences.Likely to trial a few different brands and then pick one to use regularly from there.The associated ebook was a nice touch, however the content I thought was fairly common sense stuff, but definitely a nice offering to differentiate from other similar products.

After trying a great number of beard oil products, I decided to give this beard balm a go. The key thing about any bread oil/balm is that it shapes and maintains your beard for the duration of your day. This balm does just that. Beard oils do a fair job of shaping my beard, but I ended up using a lot of it and the hold was never quite as firm as I wanted. This balm has a superb ability to hold well and do it with minimal use. It lasts longer and works better. As an additional bonus, it smells great, but it's subtle. For me personally, I don't like that man's locker room/Lynx type of smell, so this balm is perfect in that department also. If you (like I was) are still looking for the right product to style your beard, this balm could well be the answer.

It's not a bad balm, has a pleasant smell and is actually quite effective as a softener. Personally, I'm always wary of stuff marketed as premium quality but I thought to give it a try. I wouldn't chose it as my daily balm as it is a bit greasy. I was also a bit disappointed with the contents of the tin, to my surprise it was hollow underneath the surface! So I felt a bit short changed. Other than that, having tried many others, it's not the worst balm and certainly isn't bad value for money either.

This beard balm is great for a number of reasons. First of all it smells great. A lovely vanilla scent overall but still masculine, you don’t smell like a cupcake. Secondly the hold it gives it a little stronger than the one I already have. It doesn’t tame the really wire wool type beard that I have under my chin, but for most of my beard and other softer beard types you will be able to use this to style your facial attire. Thirdly it’s not a horrible yellow colour which is important if you have any grey or white hair in your beard. Yellow oils and darker waxes can colour a white or grey beard. This stuff also softens the beard and leaves a nice soft sheen, not too oily or glossy. Good balm, better beard.
