Good quality paper, easy to use

The top of my desk & matching bookcase had gotten worn out and slightly damaged due to my putting drinks on the wood directly. Instead of dealing with messy chemicals and resurfacing them, I decided to use a peel and stick contact/wall paper instead to cover the surface and modernize the pieces. It was my first time doing anything DIY like this, so I was nervous how it would come out. But, it worked great! This paper worked beautifully, but did require some careful planning and care to put it down without bubbles. Plus, I had another person to help which was key. We used a small plastic spackel device which we had on hand and that made all the difference. While one person was unrolling the paper down the desk, the other person was using the spackle device help the paper adhere and smooth out the bubbles. Another point to make about this paper (beyond how pretty & modern it is) is that pattern works well if you're trying to match the seams which we did. Unless you look super close, you can't really tell where the seams are on my desk. We used two pieces side by side. This bodes well if you want to put it on the walls which I think would look great.

I just love my wallpapered wall. I wanted a soothing, happy, yet rather neutral pattern for the small bedroom, and this fit the bill. I had ordered 5 rolls for the wall in the picture, to be sure, but in the end 4 rolls were just enough. I am still within the return window, so I'll return the unused roll. By the way, all rolls came from the same print job, so the colour was identical in all.This is a relatively easy to match pattern, and quite forgiving visually. Out of the 3 different wallpaper projects I did in the last two weeks, I'd say this ranks as number 2 in ease of application, so not bad, because it is a relatively intricate pattern, but it is not hard to match.The paper itself is good, too, not too thin or thick or stretchy, but just right. Perhaps the most pleasant at touch to work with, out of the three.Crucial when starting the project is drawing the first vertical line on the wall, using a level. This will serve as an important guide for the very first strip.Also, dust your walls using the swiffer duster tool for floors, before installing. If the wall is newly painted, allow at least 4 weeks for the paint to cure, to avoid gas bubbles coming out from the paint and ruining your application.Wallpaper application requires patience, I've learned. I did it all in one day, it took probably 6 hours, as I wanted my pattern as close to perfect as possible... It consumes mental energy, so perhaps it is better to spread the work over two days.All wallpaper smells, so run the fan and keep the windows open after installation.My next step is to paint the remaining walls in a matching colour, then I'll have some even bigger bliss happening in that bedroom. I liked so much how the wall came out, I actually slept there last night, with the window ajar... it felt peaceful :) Good luck with your project!

I can't believe that I just put up wallpaper, which I swore I would NEVER do. Up until a year ago I would have cringed at the word... but no more! I loved this design and wanted something other than paint with more of a design "punch", and this certainly does the trick while also being soft and classy. I also didn't want the commitment (or mess) that comes with permanent wallpaper.I used this wallpaper in our powder room and it completely transformed the space. I put it on the main wall and then painted the other walls a soft green/grey called "Silver Mist". I was able to install the wallpaper by myself, although it was a bit tricky at times. Here are a few tips:1. Measure the wall and cut the wallpaper before putting it up, just be sure to add a couple of inches so you can cut it straight at the bottom.2. Don't pull too hard on the wallpaper because it does stretch. I found myself pulling on it while trying to match the pattern and it made the job more difficult in the end.3. Make sure you have a zippo knife so you can cut it straight at the ceiling and baseboards. And I also used a window squeegee after laying it to remove all of the bubbles and smooth it out.4. Before you even start, wipe down the walls and make sure you don't have any dust or water which could affect the "stick".I haven't had any problems at all with it falling down or shifting- it's been up for about 2 weeks now. I highly recommend it and am excited to try different designs in other rooms! By the way, this job took 2 rolls- remember, you have to match up the pattern at the seams!
